Pours black with a medium sized beige head, some lacing. Aroma of toasted malts, pine and bisquity. Flavor of toasted malts, bready, citrus and pine

Rich deep dark brown coloured body with a nice, four centimetre tall rich brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, fragrant piney hops, a bit of caramel and some nice resinous notes. Medium-bodied; Assertive hoppy flavour at first with a big bite of alcohol, some more subdued sweetness and a nice fresh rsoasted malt flavour. Aftertaste is rich and very well-rounded with a good balance of roasted malt and hops - nice! Overall, a very good Black IPA with a good balance throughout and still showing a bunch of fresh hops throughout. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Total Wine in Manassas, Virginia on 28-March-2015 for US$4,99 sampled at home in Washington on 10-April-2016.

Bottle shared at CBC Clerkenwell 10/9/2015. Many thanks to Leighton for the BIPA tick. Clear mahogany reddy brown coloured pour with a loose light tan head. Aroma is toasted pine needle hops, coconut and nutty roasted grains, little hot alcohol. Flavour is composed of bitter black roasted grains, bitter coffee, solvent, light spicy pine needle, woody. Palate is medium full bodied with highish carbonation. Lingering bitter roast.

Craft Clerkenwell Bottle Share. Thanks to Leighton. Clear dark amber beer, good pale tan head. Palate is light, dry and miildly crisp. Modest dark chocolate in the malts. Mild spice. Bitterish tangy fruits. Dry finish. Spicy linger. Not bad.

Bottle thanks to Leighton. It pours darkest brown with a small beige head. The nose is toasty, dark chocolate, earth, malt loaf and Eccles cake. The taste is bitter, charred wood, liquorice, mild acidity, dried fruits, burnt pine and fruit cake with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Not bad, but a bit burnt and charred for my liking.

Bottle shared at a CBC Clerkenwell tasting - London. Bought in the US. Pours deep brown with a frothy tan head. The nose holds burnt grains and pine, some chocolatey dark malts. Light-medium sweet flavor with ashy roast, oily burnt pine, bitter cocoa. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Dry on the finish, with some dusty cocoa, roast, further burnt pine. OK stuff on the whole.

Bottle split at CBC Clerko, thanks to Leighton, 10/09/15. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a decent light tan covering. Nose is light pine dusting, charr, biscuit crumble, cocoa powder, trace of darkfruit. Taste comprises subtle tropical fruit shreds, brown bread, toffee, light spice, hint of liquorice, cocoa rub. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Adequate CDA, ticks the style boxes but a bit light on hops.

Bottle. Black beer with a tan head. Grapefruit and pine aroma. Grapefruit and pine flavor with light cocoa. Medium bodied. Grapefruit and pine linger with light cocoa and light roast.
