Taking this one before to eat, directly at the restaurant, before to eat, classical German dunkel, on the stout way, roasty, coffee, roasty malt, light and aromatic.

Tap at the brewpub. Dark brown, offers head. Light tart roast, butterscotch, herbal, medium bodied, light sticky, some brewing flaws evident, which is a bit funny given the Hausbier was clean.

Tap at Sophies Brauhaus. Brown, mostly clear. Sweet malty bread. Roasted, soft, but rather thin. Meh.

On tap at that weird beer festival at Rastatt. The exact category should be iacetyl-ridden old helles coloured with ungodly amounts of sinamar. Revolting

On tap at Sophie's Brauhaus, pours a dark reddish brown with a medium tan head. Aroma reveals dark red fruits, crusty bready malt and some nuttiness. Flavour is pretty weak, with bready malt, toasted caramel, and red fruits, but everything is rather take. Lacking body or character. Uninteresting.

Keg at the brewpub, 08/02/15. Dark mahogany brown with a mdoerate light beige covering that retains. Nose is nutty, toffee, vanilla, caramel. Taste comprises light spice, biscuit, dark toffee fudge, vanilla, sweet notes. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Adequate schwarz.
