It is a Belgian-style Pale Ale with an American twist. It is brewed with pale, caramel, and wheat malts, and hopped with centennial and Cascade hops to give it a distinctly American character. The medium bodied beer has a crisp palate and moderate bitterness coupled with the fruity esters from the abbey yeast strain. It is bottle and keg conditioned so expect a tall fluffy head and a small amount of sediment. Recipe by brewer, Jeff Musselman.

12 oz. bottle. Pours dark orange with very little head and no lacing. The aroma is pine, sugar, and white wine. The flavor is sweet with a little sour. The palate is light to medium, a little astringent, and dry. Overall, this is an interesting beer, but not outstanding.

A nice amber ale with a thick lacing and frothy mocha head. In aroma, a nice herbaceous hops with belgian yeasts, clover field, light bubblegum. In mouth, a smooth fruity ester with herbal hops, nice and smooth orange peels, very nice. Tasted with Probstk.

Bottle with gooovikings in KC. Thanks Jetson! 2:30 am while watching the republican debate. Fuck yeah! Slightly hazy, orange appearance with a white head. Spicy, peppery, light barnyard, Belgian yeasty, light hoppy nose. Peppery, moderately spicy, moderately herbal hoppy, Belgian yeasty flavor. Light soapy, spicy, belgian aftertaste. Nice brew!

Hazy orange/ yellow. ½ inch bubbly white head. Nose is a nice blend of fruit and hops. Taste is a sweet and lightly bitter with fruit (lemon) upfront and a bit of grapefruit hoppy taste in the finish. Lightly bitter. A nice liveliness on the tongue from the carbonation. Has a element that makes me want more. Great amount of drinkability.

Bottle from Oak Tree. Purs hazy orange amber with a frothy beige head. Aroma of spice and something like pickled peach. Flavor is bitter, fruity and perhas a bit clovey. Finishes bitter. Very nice.

NBD, NY sixer ($12): Hazy orange body with a formidable white head. You get the fruity Belgian aroma with elements of American micro-hopping. Lots of citrus in the taste. Somewhat subdued Belgian yeast. Moderate hop bitterness. Spicy notes are rather prevalent, along with sugary sweetness that isn’t cloying. Very smooth drinking regardless. Weyerbacher seldom disappoints me.

Tap at Rattle n Hum. Pretty friggin’ good. Nicely balanced. Pours a modestly hazy gold with a frothy, white head. Nose of slightly funky yeast, fruits, and hints of bubblegum. Flavor echoes the aroma, with some welcome hop bitterness on the finish. Medium to light in body with some crisp, refreshing carbonation. Tasty.

Consumed 9-12-09...bottle...Pours hazy orange/amber with a little foamy beige head....clove on the nose--faint in general....a bitter yeast flavor with a little metal on the finish...not a great representation of a belgian for me....too much bitter in the finish, and not enough sweet for balance

Bottle: Poured a bright golden color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of dry hops with some nice light fruity ester and some grain is also noticeable. Taste is also a very nice mix between some cereal and dry hops with a light fruity touch in the finish – I very much appreciated the hops presence and this was somewhat reminiscent of DDC Dernière Volonté thought a notch below overall.
