12 oz. stubby, Best by 10/01/08. Oops, waited to get to this I guess, I was just trying to space out all the wits coming at me through the summer. Well, this one pours a nice breath of coriander and citrus, fizzy yellow body with noticeable haze. Carbonation is the first thing when it passes my lips. That helps bring a lot more prickly citrus to my ’buds, and that’s nice. Slightly grainy unmodified wheat to be found, lending just a touch of tartness. This is very good as larger american brewers’ bottled wits go.

What an underrated brew, there is a definite wheat beer bias here. ’Now its time for me to make my impression felt. So sit back, relax, and strap on your seat belt.’ Pours a cloudy, extremely hazy, can just barely see through it, dark straw/yellow color. The medium sized head fades quickly. Aroma is strong, especially for a Wit. First is a sweet, dough-y, Belgian yeastiness all wrapped around a hefty chunk of coriander. After that there is a light lemon with other citrus characteristics and a very light fishy wheatiness. A very nice Belgian character but there is a definite American twist in it, just sort of subdued and cleaner on the nose despite all those very ’Belgian-yeast’ characteristics Taste seems like a definite mix of American wheat and Belgian Wit. Its a rather clean wheat, not so many esters bouncing off. But there is plenty of coriander (which I love) and other citrus flavors (probably due to the coriander). Finishes with a lightly sweet candy aftertaste. The body is a bit thicker for a 4.4% Wit but a good tingly carbonation to go along with it. So you get the best of both worlds with it. Its not ’fresh’ at the moment, since this comes out in the beginning of summer but I have been drinking this for 2 months and its wunderbar. If you like Wits, this is a definite treat. As far as I know this has changed rather drastically over the years but I think they hit the hammer on the nail with this batch.

Pours with a foamy, white head that fizzes away, leaving behind a hazy yellow body. Aroma of spices, sweet wheat, orange peel and coriander. Taste is dryish and a touch watery with coriander and orange peel. A bit on the fizzy side of things carbonation wise.

12 oz bottle from Kaggie97! Thanks Kevin! Nose of wheat, yeast, bananas, light cloves and nutmeg; murky yellow with a small yellow head; flavor more spiciness with some pepperiness, yeast, and some light sweetness and very light bitterness.

Bottle as shown. Pours a cloudy yellow golden color with a large white frothy head that diminishes rather quickly. The aroma is a strong clove and citrus. The taste is a sweet banana and lemon with a dry finish. Not as dry as most wit but still a good witbier from Boulevard.

Courtesy of CigarCityBrew. Pours hazy straw with thin bright white head. Smells of sugary sweet malts and wheat and not much else. The taste feels watery to start but that may work for the refreshing summer beer style. I get sweet and tart notes to go along with wheat and what feels like an absence of hops. Interesting.

Hazy golden coloured body with a thinnish white head and a few bubbles rising from the bottom. Aroma of lemon, wheat, yeast and coriander seed. Light to Medium-bodied; Pleasant wheatie taste with yeast and the curacao very noticeable. Aftertaste is pleasant and calming - a good one to drink in summer as there are no harsh aftertastes. Overall, a good white, not among the best but among the better than averages. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Sam’s Liquor in Oklahoma City, OK on 29-September-2007.

++++RE-RATE 8/30/08++++
16 oz. draft. Here we go with another re-rate on this beer, and again, I am liking it more and more each time. The interplay between spice, citrus and yeast is really delicate and balanced. On top of that, super refreshing. My beef with the palate is toned a bit too, this seemed fuller this time around. 7,4,7,3,15 (3.6)

++++RE-RATE 9/1/07++++
12 oz. bottle. I picked up on a lot more spice complexity this time around. Also, a very nice wheat palate throughout. Still a bit watery, but enjoyed much more this time around. 7,4,6,3,10 (3.0)

++++ORIGINAL RATING 10/26/06++++
Bottle. Pour is hazy white gold. Nice full head. Taste is tangerine, lemon and lime. OK spiciness at the end. Overall, a slightly below average Belgian White. 6,4,5,3,10 (2.8)
