Boozy as hell, with a deep vein of bourbon accentuating the dry bitterness of Peoples. Dark, bitter roastiness meets vanilla, chocolate, dark fruits, and loads of liquor. Still prefer the original, but BBA makes for a nice variation.

Bottle from 2012 thanks to JCB. Opens with a health pop. Pours deep mahogany, very large tan head that eventually dissipates into sticky clumpy residual and lacing. Aroma has notes of bourbon, roasted malts, cocoa, vanilla. Flavor is medium sweet, light bitter, lots of bourbon and not a lot else that has survived. Lightish body, high, to the point of offputting, carbonation.

Bottle 65 cl. Pours a clear, dark brown with a warm, reddish hue. Lively, creamy and lacing light brown head. Very heavy Bourbon aromas, not boozy or anything, but intense. Medium-bodied, subtle roast, some vanilla and the rest is all Bourbon. Good thing I love Bourbon.... Very drinkable. 220915

22 oz. bottle shared by Willrunforbeer, huge thanks on this one! We believe this is a 2013 vintage. Thicker tan head sitting on the dark brown liquid. Wow! The aroma is a nice level of bourbon mixed with chocolate malt. The flavor has what I would say is Jack Daniels. Mild Jack but Jack Daniels never-the-less. Secondary notes of tobacco leaves and pumpernickel bread. Finishes real clean for a BBA brew, very light earthiness after the sip. Nice stuff.

Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a huge creamy-foamy tan head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was strong bourbon, cocoa, tangy, malty, vanilla and a bit of chocolate syrup. The flavor was bourbon, sweet toasty malts, honey, vanilla, more bourbon and an odd off presence underneath. Long finish. Moderately full bodied. Interesting but I was a bit disappointed.

Refrigerated brown bomber poured into a snifter. Black with dark brown highlights and big light brown head. Aroma is big vanilla, medium body, medium carbonation, and pretty good small-bubble lacing. Taste is vanilla, bourbon, chocolate, some caramel, and hints of oak. Lots of flavor, nice vanilla aroma, nice amount of barrel for me, one of my favorite porters.

Bottle. Pours a dark amber with small beige head leaving spotty lacing along the glass. The aroma is strong roast, caramel, wood, and light smoke. Thin mouthfeel with sweet roast, dark chocolate, caramel and lingering sweet finish. Good.

22oz bottle for $6.99 at D’Vine’s in AdMo. $7 bomber of bourbon barrel something. Good value if nothing else. Pours a watery but opaque black with some lacing, off white head. Nose is nice, not too much barrel, definite caramel and vanilla, most toast and bread crust than a standard barreled beer, some dark fruit, plums and prunes mostly. Flavor is so well balanced, vanilla, caramel, a hint of mocha, some toast, a little raisin, a little prune, some coconut. Not boozy or hot. A bit oily on the end, but very very smooth.

Barrel is well integrated. Pours clear mahogany with good head and lacing. Some sweetness, comes together ok but not a huge body underneath. Tap at Churchkey.
