Bottle at home. Black with creamy light brown head. Lots of citrus with lemon and lime, light tropical fruits, soft herbs, old coffee, dark chocolate and light minerals. Very nice mix between fruity hops and chocolate malt notes. Under medium sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with full carbonation and fruit juice feel. Lovely black IPA.

Bottle at Café De Koffer Groningen, Netherlands, Sunday 4th October 2015 (late afternoon sat outside) If you just pop a little of the substantial head on your little finger you can smell the hops from a mile off, this is monstrously hoppy, wow (it’s great, even Loz may have met her match) Black with a towering foamy off white head, massively hoppy nose, this is great, huge hoppy burps. Cloudy in fact really murky pour. This is good, I am just drinking the froth to help Loz out, wow this is a hop demon. A8 A3 T8 P4 Ov16 3.9

Black, almost opaque, pour with an insanely tall, coffee-style head with very good retention. The smell is amazingly fresh and hoppy, with notes of citrus and pine. It tastes like an over-hopped porter, with dark cherries, oranges and grapefruit mixed with coffee, dark chocolate and roasted malts. A very nice brew.

(Draught at Hopfenreich, Berlin, 17 July 2015) Black colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of dark bread, coffee, black-currant, pine needles and a touch of mint. Malty, roasted taste with dark bread, resin, chocolate, pine needles, mint and a generous piney bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with just a touch of sweetness. Well made and tasty black IPA with a generous piney/resiny bitterness. Very nice.

330ml bottle. Quasi black colour with average to huge, thick, frothy to creamy, fully lasting, moderately lacing, beige to tan head. Roasty dark malty, chocolately aroma, a sweet-ish touch of vanilla, cocoa powder, herbal and slightly fruity, hoppy overtones, a touch of grapefruit. Taste is bitter and herbal hoppy, some grapefruit, orange and orange zest, roasty dark malty, chocolately basis. Harmonious and integrated, slightly monotonous.
