We’ve discovered through delicious experimentation the delectably roasty character that comes from adding coffee beans to just about any beer style. For this traditional yet worldly stout, the mild bitterness of the roasted coffee is balanced out brilliantly by milk sugar, adding a touch of sweetness and creaminess. Cheers to the artful coalescence of two highly artisanal mediums.
Several unique things about this formulation make the beer special, including the addition of San Diego coffee roaster Ryan Bros.’ coffee beans in the mash. We also use British mild ale malt as the base malt and the addition of milk sugar, which brewer’s yeast does not ferment. These components add some body and a touch of sweetness to the resulting beer. At only 5% ABV, some might expect this beer to be thin, but that’s far from the truth; it is a smooth and satisfying beer.

Taste: very roasted start, pretty hoppy, bitter, some coffee, sweet and sugary touch. Aftertaste: bit sourish, more roast, some cocoa powder, very fruity, weird enough works pretty thirst quenching.

Pours inky black with very little head. Little carbonation. Aroma is very nice and balanced. Classic milk stout characteristics with coffee of course being rather prominent. Also chocolate, lactose and dark malts are there. Flavour is similarly classic. Short finish. Very high drinkability and very nice beer.

On tap at Vrteška - yeah, they got some BBF17 leftovers, including this one - yay! :D Well, looks like you can imagine it would look. Creamy, caramel, full, slightly milky aroma, light. Light, fresh, creamy taste, light cocoa, light coffee, balanced, classic, flawless. This isn’t a beer you’ll remember all your life, not an extreme beer, but an extremely well executed beer that you could session easily in my book.

Black color with a beige head that leaves a fine lacing down the glass. Ok intensity in the aroma. Medium (+) body and a soft carbonation level. Tad sweet and an ok bitterness. Roasted, toffee and chocolate in the flavor.

Cleanly made like everything from stone. So clean it's almost to "mainstream" feeling and easy to get away with. But a good beer.
