33cl Blik, dank Anna-Rose! Mistig amberkleurig, vuilwitte kraag. Caramel, citroenschil, licht grassig, geconfigureerd vruchtjes, marmalade, bittere finish, heel licht metalig. Lichte body. Degelijk.

20/8/2023. Bottle shared by The Blackhaddock. Pours hazy golden amber with a small frothy off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, stewed fruits, orange, touch of grass and sherbet. Fairly sweet, moderate bitterness, touch of tart. Medium body, slightly creamy, quite fizzy. Sweet tropical finish. Not bad.

330ml bottle shared with blackhaddock in his beer cave. Relatively clear golden amber appearance with a large white head. Marmalade orange and caramelised malt comes through well.. medium bodied.. nice enough.

21st June 2023, new region and rare beer tasting with minutemat (and a sample for Grumbo) at my place. Thanks cyclist Shirley for the 330ml bottle of this: BB15th December 2023. Light amber body, mostly clear, white head. Nice sweet brew with an orange like hint in both the aroma and taste, good start to our four Japanese beers.

A strong, well-balanced pale ale. Aromas of honey, mandarin, biscuit and boiled lollies. It has a restrained but excellent hop flavour with great length. Can from Hiroshima Station 7-11.

This is the new version. Have left my previous rating below for reference. Little bit fruity, light maltiness, something a little strange too. Decent hoppiness. Nice enough, and huge improvement on the canned version I had last year. Can at home. Golden amber colour, initial bubbly head but goes very quickly. Bit murky. Aroma is grassy, bit fruity too, some lemon, berries, something weird too. Caramel malty, quite sweet. Taste is similarly mixed, fruity and sweet caramel. Bit vegetabley too. Very lifeless texture, quite strange in fact. Sweet finish. It's not horrible, but it's definitely not that nice.. 5.2.5.2.10

330ml can from 7-11 at the Miyajima ferry terminal, can date says 2018/12 so probably 7 months until expiration (?). 5%. Big head settling slowly. Light red straw color, almost like their caramel blond. More malt than hops in the nose. Light citrus hop flavor, moderate but unbalanced bitterness, slight sourness: not really on style for a pale ale. Refreshing nonetheless if you're on Miyajima on a hot day.

At a tasting, thanks, stable bubbly head, clear darkish orange color, light citrusy woody hebal aroma, flavor of cooked fruits and candy with a citrus hint, light bitterness. Drinkable but not too good.

33cl can from the train station in Hiroshima. Slightly hazy dark golden with a modest, white head. Mild fruity and malty aroma with hints of honey, ripe oranges and caramel. Fairly sweet, rather mild flavours and modest bitterness. Better than the pale lagers here, but not quite as refreshing as I hoped for. --- Beer merged from original tick of Pale Ale on 12 Apr 2016 at 16:30 - Score: 5
