The American IPA is a different soul from the reincarnated IPA style. More flavorful than the withering English IPA, color can range from very pale golden to reddish amber. Hops are typically American with a big herbal and / or citric character, bitterness is high as well. Moderate to medium bodied with a balancing malt back bone.

12 oz can Wrecker’s Sports Bar in Kissimmee, Florida. The pour is a slight hazed orange golden, with a ½ inch off-white head. The aroma is sweet malt, pine, and some toasted citrus. The taste matches the nose, subdued flavors of caramel sweet malt, hops of pine and citrus. Clean. The palate is medium bodied, average carbonation and lingering malt sweet and pine hop. Solid.

Pours a hazy orange-amber color with a medium foamy off-white head that dissipates steadily. Strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops, citrus and malt. Medium body with flavors of floral hops, citrus and toasted malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a short citrusy hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

On tap at the brewery during RBWG 2013. Pours clear, bright gold with a moderate, foamy white head. Biscuity malts in here, light dough, mellow bitterness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, more bready malts, soft citrus notes. OK.
