A neo-lambic ale that goes through both a yeast and bacteria fermentation and is then aged on oak chips and 400 pounds of Delaware peaches. This beer is very tart and complex. It is bottle-conditioned in champagne bottles.
Dogfish Head is proud to let you know that Festina Lente was awarded a bronze medal in the Belgian-style Sour Ale category at the 2006 Great American Beer Festival in Denver, Colorado.
This beer is no longer in production, but is still available randomly in limited quanities in the Vintage Beer Coolers at Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware and Dogfish Head Alehouse in Gaithersburg, Maryland.

Corked and caged 375ml bottle. Hazy pale gold color. No head. Earthy, yeasty peach aroma. Tart, tangy sour peach flavor. Some oakiness. Lots of funky brett. Brief dry sour finish.

Tap at GABF. Pours a cloudy gold with small frothy white head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is strong peach flesh, oak, apricot, cereal. Medium body, peach, apricot, wheat, oak, nice tartness, very good.

Bottle at the Funky 8, Brooklyn, NYC. Vintage 2004. Great tang in here. The fruits seem to have faded mildly but this is still a phenomenal beer. Loads of great tang. Super balance, very well rounded and drinkable. A real treat.

Cloudy gold beer. Very low carbonation. Intense sharp lemony lambic beer. Can’t really taste much peach. Struggling with this beer and this beer style in general - different shades of lemon juice to me!

Sampled at DC Epic Sour Tasting 2010. Pours a crystal clear, deep gold with one ring of white head. Nose is soapy without being hoppy, vegetables, a little chemical, carrots, peaches. Flavor is tart, dusty, hay, lemon zest, peppery. Finish is medium bodied and tart. I didn’t love this, I thought it was all over the place.

750 ml bottle at DC Epic Sour Tasting 2010, courtesy of ryan - thank you sir! Clear golden color, no head, no lacing. Subtle aroma of apple skins. Taste of citrus, tart peach. Medium body. Straightforward. 3.5 Second tasting April 2013. Amazingly, the fruit is still evident. The beer seems more rich, complex and characterful. 4.1

Bottled ’04 Februmergency Tasting. Hazy clear medium yellow body with a small white head. Funky Belgian aroma that is quite tart. Fruity, extremely sour, but a very clean sourness. Dry finish. The peach is hard to find through the powerful sourness.

Pours bright murky amber into a snifter. No head whatsoever. Slightly oaked peach and funk aromas. Crisp and tingling tart upfront with a lasting, puckering peach finish. Just picked this one up...looks like it was retired a while ago. Year brewed bottle dating only went to 05.

Madness@the Moose YEHA. Bottle provided by egajdzis, thanks Eric. Pours a cloudy pale murky color. Aroma is strong on dry peach skins, smells very FUZZY. Taste is light sour akin to fruit-vinegar. A nice beer with light sourness all around and a nice peach aspect on the nose.
