A golden ale with a thin white head. In aroma, sweet honey, signs of oxidation, orange peels, so-so. In mouth, a sweet candy sugar with coriander, honey, corn syrup, a bit old and tired. Tasted on April 24, 2011.

750 ml corked and caged bottle into an Allagash chalice. Pours a hazy orangish-yellow with a medium white head (it’s about time I got decent head from a De Proef beer!). Head collapses in a couple of minutes leaving a good-sized collar of big-bubbled foam and some creamy lace. Aroma is total Grandma’s kitchen--banana bread, apple pie, caramel. Taste is sweet and sour with no bitterness. Tastes a little old. Carbonation is medium-high, body is medium, texture is a little sticky, a little watery. Not as good as the Mystique but far better than the other two I’ve had recently from this brewery (Euphorique and Angelique).

Label on Right in Picture. Clear, somewhat hazy golden coloured body with a large dense white head that leaves a nice lace. Aroma of coriander seed, yeast, wheat, metal, lemons and a touch of citrus. Medium-bodied; Assertive malty and metallic flavours throughout with some citrus, a little allspice and cloves and even some bubble gum - not much though. Aftertaste is quite a bit dry - only the sugars come out, but it doesn’t feel like a tripel, just a saison perhaps in the palate. Overall, a bit of a let off, but not horribly so. A good beer, just not a ’traditional’ tripel - more of a cross between a trip, a wit and a saison leaning more toward the trip. I sampled this 75 cL bottle purchased from Total Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 15-June-2010, sampled at home in Washington on 05-July-2010.

a little disappointing, was thinking that this was going to be an exciting find in Sandwich on Cape Cod, but kind of a bland tripel. Not too much going for it, good color and carbonation, but the taste was off a little bit, could have been a bad bottle, but i dont think so. was too strong of a malt sweetness, sticky, oily palate to it.

Bottle shared by Rustyham. Pours dark golden color with white head. Fruity aroma with some spices. Spicy flavor with some caramel and bread dough. Based on other ratings this bottle may have been off. Not very good. Medium body with average carbonation. Thanks to Nick and Chris.

Clear golden color with medium white head that settles slowly to reveal beautiful, delicate lacing. Aroma of citrus and fresh bread. Taste has slight citrus, good hop/malt balance, and a bit of bubblegum in the middle. Average body. Decent enough, but nothing special.

750ml bottle. Murky, gray-orange color. Small, patchy head. Sweet golden yeasty aroma, some candi sugar as well maybe. I’ve been aging this beer for the better part of a year, and it hasn’t fared any better for it. Lacks the vibrant freshness and effervescence that really carry it. Lots of sweet apple liqueur flavors. Underwhelming, though still pretty good. Some mild tartness and bitterness. Deserves a rerate.

Pours gold into a tulip. Bright white head with medium retention recedes to hug rim. Biscuit and sweet cookie aromas. Crisp with medium body and a lasting malty finish.

Hazy beige with orangey accents. Very apricotty nose with yeast and breadcrust. Flavour is well-balanced, fruity-yeasty with good malt character but it finishes dry. Simple tripel, but quite pleasant.

Well I’m pleased with this initial aroma, very fruited dominated by pear cider, some canned peaches, and a spciy yeastiness that reveals possible coriander and rye bread. Flavor is a nice fluffy Duvel like clone with a big malty sugary sweetness, restrained peachy fruitiness, with a semi-dry finish that features a tingle of yeast and wee hops. Easy drinking and well balanced with the alcohol. Bright golden color with a fluffy white head and heavy meringue like lacing.
