Tap @ Beer Temple. Clear orange color, short head. Aroma of caramel malt, slight hoppy. Bit thin aroma. Slight bitter taste. Boring, almost lager like.

Tap @ Beer Temple. Looks nice, amberish color, steady head. Aroma is fruit and some malt, caramel. Taste ever so slightly malty sweet and bitterish. Nice bitter finish that doesn’t last long. My expectations weren’t very high so it wasn’t disappointing, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for this.

On tap at Beer Temple. Clear golden orange colour, white head. Faint aroma of some caramel, light hops. Flavour is light sweet, light malty, bit of caramel, light hops, a bit sharp bitter finish, but overall very faint. Light to medium bodied. Meh...

Location: 12 oz bottle from Gilly's, 4/9/09
Aroma: Not too strong, mostly hops and earth, a little lemon
Appearance: Orange/amber color, light and clear, small white head
Flavor: Decent hop flavor, with some citrus sweetness
Palate: OK mouthfeel, lightish body
Overall Impression: An overall drinkable and average IPA. I liked it, but in a style this good you need to something special to make a beer standout, and this one doesn't have that.

bottle 12pack mixer. Pours amber, with white head. Aroma is light sweet citrus hops and some spices. Taste, was a again sweet citrus with a profile that had more malt caramel presence. Finish light bitter hops.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy orange with a minimal head that dies quickly. Aromas are a mixture of honey and caramel malt, a little bit of herb/spice and a touch of citrus. This is fairly interesting and compelling up to this point. Flavor is very malt heavy and it seems more toffee-like than caramel-based. The malt presence sits kind of heavy on the palate and there is not enough of a hop presence to pull it out of its funk, even if it wants to claim status as an English IPA (at least this is how I feel about it all.) Comes off as very malty and heavy with just a little bit of a medicinal hops presence which keeps the flavor from being a complete disaster. Still, the nose made it seem like this was going to be much better.

Bottle. Clear amber golden pour with a foamy white head that leaves quickly. The nose is soapy, grassy with a hint of caramel and grain, almost more pilsner-like than IPA. But there is nothing lager-like in the flavor. It is lightly to moderately sweet and lightly bitter and finishes moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture and lively carbonation. The texture turns sticky in the finish. There is an off-putting, perfume-like aftertaste. Overall, a bit of a mess. Unsatisfying.

Well, it was there and I needed a beer to complete my six pack discount, so there you are. IPA in character, but it takes a while to develop. Starts off rather ale-ish on the mild APA side, the lighter side. However, it morphs to get more rude as the session continues. As you drink it, it becomes more and more rude. Hoppy, almost heavy bitter linger on the finish. Yes, I have had some APA’s that were more offensive than this. Another example of beer that uses hops as a preservative, and is proud of it.

12 oz. bottle from mj. Pour is a slightly cloudy amber with a 1 inch somewhat off white head. Aroma is initially sweet biscuit malt with some lemony citrus hops. Taste mirrors the nose, and is a nice balance between the slightly sweet malt and citrusy hops. Finish reveals a touch of grapefruit peel, and was the least pleasant part of the beer. Overall, a nice sessionable IPA. Thanks Mike!
