14th July 2015 Farewell Jack bottleshare at Craft Clerkenwell. Cheers to Dan the Man. Clear deep amber beer, good pale tan head. Palate is light, semi dry and with decent fine carbonation. Thin dark malts. Touches of soy and vinegar. Skewed esters. Mild wood. Semi dry finish. A bit odd but perfectly drinkable. However this is a pale shadow of Cuvee 1 and Cuvee 2. Maybe some age on this will even it out.
13th July 2019. Opaque dark brown beer, small bubbly tan head. Smooth dark malts. Smooth coffee and and a little tangy dark chocolate. Some mild bourbon wood. A little dark fruits, quite tangy. Light semi dry spicy finish. Much more joined up with some aging, but still very hard to get excited about.

Bottle - Boozy barrel notes with some aoy and molasses. Jet black with a thin brown head. Nutty, light sourness, soy and a long nice roasty sweet finish. This beer starts on one path but the finish is a very nice barrel and has a roasty sweet character. Maybe a little age to mellow would be good, but still decent.

Bottle from Dirty Danny (as he now likes to be called). It pours darkest brown with a tiny beige head. The nose is soft, rather fruity, plum, prune, Vimto, bit of jam, cocoa, wood and spice. The taste is bitter-sweet, plum, prune, Dandelion & Burdock, blackcurrant jam, wood, vanilla, vinous character, earthy roast and leather with a smooth finish. Has a bit of tang to it. Medium - full body and fine carbonation. Drinks a lot easier than expected.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks Tom L. Black. Aroma of dark fruits, chocolate, wood, vanilla, caramel. Sweet and slightly tart flavor, with chocolate, dark fruits, wine, some roast, vinous touches, wood, and a bitterish finish with an alcoholic note. Rounded mouthfeel. Really good.

Bottle. Inky black pour, small brown head, a bit of lacing. Aroma is anise, dark cocoa, molasses, bourbon, some red wine, charred wood. Flavor is quite sweet, medium bitter, hot and boozy, woody. Full body, thick on the palate. This is a bruiser of a beer.

Bottle from de Molen Beershop, dated 27-03-2015 BB 27-03-2040, large sample. Dark color, short frothy head, just some brown lacing. Aroma of roasted malts, some red wine, vinous, touch of bourbon, soy sauce. Lots of different aromas. Quite vinous in taste, raisin, bit alcohol, dry, wood, soy sauce. Goes all the way, might not be perfectly balanced, but enjoys with lots of flavors. Reminds me a bit of de molen bierlikeur. Good? No. Tasty? Yes.

Tap at Delfts bierfestival. Black with small beige head. Sweet red wine, marzipan, milk chocolate, medium roasted notes with some coffee and walnuts. Quite sugary sweet with light grape tartness and soft roasted bitter finish. Full bodied. Massive beer, really well done.
