The Enfant Terriple is put for 6 months on cherries: 250 g sour, un-pitted cherries per litre beer. During this time, the bacteria are given time to digest all sugars even further and to let the soft natural souring have its way. Meanwhile, the cherries slowly donate their blood-red colour and their succulent taste. Part of this cherry also is transferred to the oak wine barrels where it – in a grow-bed of lactobacillus – during a year adds further to a woody souring and softening. The result is a triple-kriek ‘pur sang’. With this, a new saint is added to the Cuvée family of Brewery De Leite. The Cuvée Soeur’Ise, is a wink to cherry in French (= ‘cerise’). The divine saint has already seduced many, all over the world!

Bottle @ weekly tasting shared with Dutchdrebus and Ansjelaah. Clear reddish color, small pinkish head. Aroma has fruits, slightly sweetness, a touch of wood, lightly cherries. Taste fruits, cherries, again a touch of wood. I must admit, I was quite skeptical but it’s pretty nice indeed. Good fruitbeer.

Bottle @ benzai. Purple colour with a small pinkish head. Smells dusty, sour, fruity, cherry, red fruits, slightly mint and fresh. Tastes cherry, some mint, dusty, brett. Nice! It’s a bit thin though. Soft but fizzy carbo.

Hazy pink. Big oak, sour cherry. The mouth is mildly tart with tons of cherries. Full body. Alcohol is well hidden, cherries are very intense. Excellent balance. Wonderful cherry beer.

33 cl. bottle split by 3 @ Bar Oud Postje. Pours dark pomegranate with a disappearing pink head. Nose is sweet cherries, light tart nose, touch yoghurt & vinegar. Taste is yoghurt, light dairy mixed with tart berries & some sweet cherries, touch bitter mould pits & some caramel malts, lingering sourness,… Way more sour than expected with a great fruit taste, very impressive stuff,… Easy to drink & substantial body, nice stuff here.

Bottle picked up in June 2013 from Dranken Geers, Oostakker, nr Gent, Belgie, consumed at Moreton in Marsh campsite, Friday 1st November 2013 Pours a beautiful, gorgeous, crystal clear scarlet red colour with a girlie pink head, looks stunning, absolutely superb. Sour nose, pushy sour cherries with a little damp paper. Clacky in mouth, sour cgerries, tart and then dry, there is a woody edge. There is a nod towards Rodenbach but only slight, this is out on its own. Love this, great beer, took a chance on this at Dranken Geers , had never seen before, will stock up next time. De Leite’s Cuvée Soeur’ise will wash that bad taste from my mouth! 750 yen or so, 8.5% an oak barrel aged triple Kriek from Uehata in Osaka. A beautiful blood red pour with a whitish-pink head of foam. Sour, tart cherry aroma with sweetness & some woodsy accents. Wow, interesting stuff, sweet & sour cherry followed by some boozy wood/oak notes giving it a rough earthy finish. I think this beer really comes off with a flavor profile similar to red wine. Good stuff & well worth trying. As it warms up some spices start to sneak through...

Bottled. Cherry and vanilla nose, cream, some vinegar. Deep red with a creamy, cyclamen head. Flavors of mild cherry, vanilla, not very sour. Wood, dry, woody finish. Nice body. Tasty.
