Very dark brown colour. Aroma has toadted dark malts. Flavour is pleasantly bitter from the dark malts but also has hints of sweet dried fruits.

Draft at Kaapse fest. Aroma of malt and nuts mostly. Soft smooth taste of nuts, malt, mild caramel and a soft finish. Elegant, but also simple.

Tap at Kaapse 2nd Anniversary. Unclear deep brown with creme colered head. Metallic chocolate malts, light coffee, quite dry. Light sweet, medium bitter and a slight sour bend. Tap at Kaapse Brouwers festival. Dark reddish brown with beige head. Sweet chocolate, toast, grilled bell peppers, toffee, sweet red wine. Over medium sweet with light bitter finish. Medium bodied.

Sample draft @ BBP, Kaapse Brouwers event. Brune au col fin beige. Arôme au nez malté augurant une effluve de grains concassés et de grillé en rétro-nasal. Retrouve une petite impression de cara amber voire de crystal mais aussi une note de mélanoïde pour la douceur. Palais est centré sur un profil céréales avec une note de grains concassés, l tout semble pas spécialement intentionnel. Le tout conserve une fine note de café et encore une douceur persistante de mélanoide que l’on retrouve sur pas mal de bières allemandes. Amertume perce en rétro, et je note me^me une petite pointe épicée rappelant la réglisse. Léger fruité noir tirant sur la mûre et framboise chocolatée.

Sampled draft @ Brussels Beer Project. Pours closer to black than anything brown, solid creamy tanned head. Nose is weird, very thick syrup, bramble, mat syrup basically, big sugar, pear syrup & molasses. Taste is low plastic, thick malt syrup, bramble, licorice, roots, molasses. Very thick molasses, malt syrup like. Odd but not bad. Very malt, licorice, molasses syrupy etc.

Draft at Kaapse. Very hazy brown with a small light tan head. Aroma of malt, toffee, light roast, caramel and light overripe dark fruit. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with light carbonation.
