Can shared thanks to sjogro. Clear light amber with off white head. Light sweet malts, soft beans, caramel, dust, light cardboard, some bread and a hint of apricot, marzipan and alcohol. Under medium sweet and bitter. Under medium bodied.

Gift of a 950 ml can drunk at home. An average to cheap German festbier that was very welcome after a day shifting 3 tons of slate chippings in the garden. Low carbonation, but a strong caramel sweetness that left me checking the ingredients - which confirmed that it was brewed to German purity laws. It was ok, but it did taste a bit cheap. It looked good in the stein and impressed my children.

£4.99 for a litre can with an unbadged glass MassKrug. BBD 11th Jan 2018. Beer poured into the MassKrug at home on 21st April 2017. Looked good, deep and clear amber body, full head of white foam on top. Malty brew with a decent hop bitterness: better than I expected to be honest.

Amber, off white head that soon fades. Nose is caramel, light alcohol. Taste is sweet, dry, rough around the edges with traces of raw alcohol. Finish is short, again a bit uneven. Drinks like the low budget beer it is.

Can. Lidl. Clear amber colour. Messy, lasting, off white head. Nose has burnt malts. Vine fruit. A little nutty, maybe. Taste is pretty harsh, metallic bitter. Has a grubby coin thing about it. Some vinous sweetness. Has a touch of astringency. Dirty bitter finish. A bit grim, even at 99p a pop.

50cl can. Pours quite dark golden colour with a huge most good lasting off-white head. Aroma of dry and dark malt, toasted malt, some nuts. Taste of nuts, caramel, spicy hops, very dry, interesting!

Can, 0.5l. Pours clear amber body with medium sized, short lasting white head. Smell is malty and yeasty with a touch of caramel. Thin to medium body with thick texture. Prickly carbonation. Bittersweet taste, dominated by metallic bitternes, especially in the finish. Aroma of malts, yeast, grains, corn and caramel. Grassy and metallic mouthfeel, followed by sweet aftertaste. Overall, despite all the metallic acidity, this one actually turned up quite decent. Not bad.
