We take a big American stout and stuff it into a bourbon barrel where is lays dormant until it is ready to meld itself with vanilla and blossom into it’s own creation. Enjoy!

Beige lacing on a overly carbonated mahogany coloured body.
Big boozy aroma with vanilla & bourbon.
Medium bodied, lightly carbonated & thinning out to limp back.
Bourbon, vanilla & berry tastes with a huge boozy.
A big let down. Far to boozy for the thin body & wishy washy back.
You can't win 'em all.

From tap at Van Moll Fest 2019. Aroma is dark malt with bourbon, vanilla, caramel, alcohol, and toffee. Sweet, some booziness, smooth body. Very nice, lots of caramel malt and bourbon.

(Draught at Beer Temple, Amsterdam, 20 July 2024) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of coffee, dark chocolate and vanilla. Malty, roasted taste with black coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla, caramel and a balanced coffee bitterness in a warming finish. Full body, quite sweet. On the sweet side, but really rich, tasty and quite well balanced. Great beer!

CBJ Bottleshare. Thanks to Wingman for the bottle. Near clear deep amber brown beer, small bubbly tan head. Airy dark malts, modest and slightly tangy dark chocolate. Mild vanilla. Light finish. Tidy if unremarkable stout from this once 'must try' brewery.

Bourbon barrel aged and vanilla, there’s a lotto anticipate with this beer. Another selection from my most recent purchase with Half Time, I have the cap removed and the contents of the 12 oz bottle going inside of a snifter. An appropriate but swell representation of the style inside the glass, dark brown-almost black liquid with a here and gone ring of light tan foam. The scent is attractive but I say that about all the pastry stouts. Sweet chocolate, raisins, booze and vanilla as advertised. I lift the glass for a drink. Shouldn’t have been concerned with a letdown, this is a solid imperial stout. It’s not overwhelming with sweetness like many in the style but does have it nonetheless. Dark chocolate, scorched grain, raspberries, chocolate malt, a touch of caramel, bourbon, vanilla and pecans. Moderately sweet with a lesser bitterness concluding. Just right with the sensation, well done Mister (or Ms) Unknown Brewer. I can tick off on one hand the imperial stouts I have really, truly enjoyed this year and I consider the style to be one of my top three. This joins the four other brews.
