It’s no easy feat surveying the Guava Kingdom. Then again, it was no easy feat becoming the Guava King. Somehow, Josh managed the latter and keeps up with the former, cruising along on his Heavy Metal-powered Intergalactic Bicycle. This citrus-forward IPA derives its fruit flavor from both mango puree and a generous addition of Mosaic Hops. Tropical flavors explode within a soft body that balances out hoppy notes with a full malt backbone.

Can from Bruisin' Ales. Pours dark, brassy gold with a white head. Aroma is guava, perhaps mango, and a touch of slightly roasty malt. Med + body (barely). Flavor is guava, detectable malt support, arguably mango/melon. Juicily undry (tho it's not really juicy) and bitter enough to please. Interesting and effective use of fruit. Pleasing indeed.

Fairly hazy golden and peach coloured body with a large, three to four centimetre tall pure white head. Aroma of pure tropical fruits with passionfruit, light curcao, a touch of bananas and a pungent guava kick - very nice, but mangoes hit harder than everything else - they seem strongest, and in a good way - super tropical and no real alcohol noticeable in the nose. Medium-bodied; Strong tropical fruit flavours with a pungent juicy sweetness around the edges and a lot of resin and hop bitterness after a few seconds, that give way to a perfect malt balance and a nice bite from the alcohol, but even smoother from all the tropical fruits. Aftertaste is pungent but nice with the tropical fruit sweetness by far the strongest, but an excellently balanced malt backbone and pleasant hop bitterness make this round out quite well, and doesn't show even close to the 8% this states, along with a style that is much closer to a normal 'New England' IPA than an Imperial IPA at all! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can purchsaed from Corner Store (Bait and Tackle) in West Palm Beach, Florida on 26-December-2017 for US$5,49 sampled in my hotel room in Cocoa Beach, Florida a day later on 27-December-2017. Can. Golden pour. Aroma of herbal hop, caramel, malt, pineapple and pine. Taste has sweet tropical fruit, caramel, herbal hop, pineapple, bitter pine and malt. I find it hard to detect the guave, but there are tropical notes. Solid fruity dipa.

16 oz can poured. A slight haze, bright golden orange pour. Quite a strong impression on the aroma. Orange slice fruit hops. Flavor is creamy. Biting imperial here. Orange fruit. Bold and bitter. A bit harsh on the back end of this IIPA. Not bad.

16 oz. can, pours a hazy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out piney hops, light sulphur, and biscuity malt. Flavour likewise has a bit of sulphur, piney hops, booze and sweet candied sugar. Too much sulphur that's ruining this.

Pint can pours with a clear gold body that supports a dirty white head of foam. The aroma offers up guava, some funky tropical guava, candied tangerine and then a mild grapefruit note. Interesting blend of fruitiness. The taste delivers juicy tangerine, tangy guava and pineapple. The tangerine gets candy like as it wraps around the funky tropical warm guava notes. To midway the fruitiness is met by a modest blend of bitter grapefruit and tangelo. This creates a pleasing balance and hoppy depth.

Can. Hazy gold beer, good pale cream colour head. Palate is light and finely crisp. Smooth light malts bring a light creamy sweetness. A little fresh hop induced orange and then a pleasant and sweetish generic fruitiness. Modest piney hop and a little hop spice. Light finish. Pleasingly fruity but could do with more of a hop edge. Pretty drinkable.

16 oz. can thanks to Chalumeaux in a trade. Can date of 4-20-17. Dirty/ cloudy orange in color. Aroma is full of guava with a mild floral hops. The flavor is pretty well integrated with the purée and hops. Fruit almost over-rides the hops but it still shows you that it has bitterness and is in fact an IPA. Balance is nice. Thank you T.J!
