0.33 l bottle from Beerlovers, Vienna. Pours deep brown, almost black coloured with thin head. Opens with some chocolate in aroma, but the smoked notes almost immediately take over. In taste, the scenario is the same, chocolate first, then smoked notes, but this time combined with some roasted malts/coffee. Closes with long lasting bitter cofee-chocolate finish, overtoned again with smooooke. Light to medium bodied, softly carbonated. Interesting, but I quite liked it.

In my opinion, it is a not so strong smocked porter, I could say that it is close to a stout, roasted malt, a little smocked, dry, good. 11.04.2017

Bottle at home. Aroma is light roasted malt, flawlessly balanced smoke, dark chocolate, hint of coal and dark fruits, some coffee. Flavour is light sweet with a moderate to medium roasty bitter finish. Body is medium. Nice level of smoke and high drinkability! Lovely balanced and smooth beer.

Bottle. Started about 10C which was too cold. Very dark brown with a coat of tan head. Very smokey aroma with singed sugars, prunes, chocolate, bread. Lighter in both body and palate than suggested by the aroma with heavier roast and a smokey and bitter finish. More inviting and rounded as it warmed.

330 ml can. Murky dark brown with a dense foamy beige colored head. Zesty dry citrus notes, cocoa, smoked ham, iron, robusta coffee, burnt malt, herbal resinous hops, toffee. Dry zesty hoppy bitterness, umami, some sweetness. Full to medium bodied, oily texture, soft carbonated, dry bitter smoky finish. Great smoked Porter, very complex, dry and smoky, balanced, very drinkable and tasty!

Bottle from Geers. Cloudy black, stable, foamy, beige head. Aroma of cigar tobacco, beef stock, espresso, toast, wood, charcoal, prune. Taste has sweetish prune, old raisin and fig in a toasty malt body wiht notes of coffee roast and smoky-umami beef stock. Earthy hoppy finish, expressive notes of bitter espresso, smoked meat & tobacco. Medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation. Quite an excellent hybrid.

Mir gefällts. In der Nase eine Räucherkammer, im Mund dann auch viel Bitterkeit und Röstaromen. Kein easy drink.
