Both malt & hops start off subtly but build as you get into it, developing into a marmalade character in the finish. At 6.5% abv and 70 bitterness units, this is big beer and a classic English rendition of the style.

Thanks to my dear brother: Pours a light brownish color with a tan head... quite on the dark side of IPAs. Aroma of caramel malts and more English style hopping (definitely leading towards an more English rendition of the style). Beer is very full-bodied and full-flavored. Hits you with a strong bitterness right in the middle, but that is well balanced against the robust malty backbone. A little bit of candy-like flavors in there as well, as well as a little bit of dirt. This is a dirty IPA, and is certainly deserving of its title as a Curmudgeon. In any case, it is quite good.

Bottle: Poured a hazy dirty beige color ale with a rather large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of earthy and dry English hops with a light caramel malt presence. Taste is also dominated by dry English hops with a nice earthy touch and a malt backbone presence that is felt though not overly complex. Body is quite full with medium filtration and good carbonation. Well brewed and easily drinkable while staying well balanced.

500 ml bottle from HogTownHarry! Nose of citrus and light pine with some caramelized sugar and yeast. Cloudy orange with a medium, lightly lacing creanm colored head. Flavor is caramel with the bitterness kicking in after a few seconds. Finish is bitter. Nice English style IPA!

A golden IPA with a thick dark off white head. A very interesting resinous hops aroma, meaty, and herbal. In mouth, loads of oily malt with resinous hops, very British, with grainy qualities, earthy. Medium to rich bodied, a wack in the face. Bottle from JesseM. Thanks dear Sir!

This IPA poured a really nice rust colour with a big bold off white head. To the nose there are scents of pineapple, hopps, oranges and dough. First taste was very hoppy with strong citrus flavours. Grapefruit and orange citrus flavours mostly noted. Sharp hopps but not overpowering flavour. The finish is bitter with the citurs flavours lingering. Palate is fruity with the bitterness lingering.
