440ml can from brewery. Pours black, small tanned head, thin retention. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, vanilla, salt. Taste is light, malty, semi-sweet, roasted nuts, dark chocolate, vanilla. Light bodied, slightly dry. Feels like a classic well made example of a mild.

Handpump at Luppolo Station in Rome. Coffee bean color with a medium ivory bubbling foam. Nose: coffee and some caramel, roast. Mouth is sparkling (pour?) and mirrors the aroma.

Cask at the Cambridge Beer Fest: Poured a dark black brown with creamy tan head. Aroma is vanilla cream, roasted malt. Taste is a roasted tobacco/malt, the finish is a bit harsh.

16/11/2018. Cask at the Cambridge Winter Beer Festival 2018. Pours very dark brown with a bubbly/frothy beige head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, nuts, dark fruit and lactose. Medium sweetness and moderate bitterness. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Nutty finish. Decent.

Keg at the Kings Head, Leicester. Dark brown, translucent. Light aroma with chocolate and vanilla notes. Sweet taste with marshmallow flavour, settling down to a more bitter burnt malt finish. Heavy, heavy carbonation. Very good, not always a fan of keg mild but this is an exception.

330ml Bottle - Dark brown with red tinges and a foamy head. Raisins, marzipan, caramel and vanilla in the aroma. Chocolate, roasted malt, coffee and some noticeable yet subtle vanilla notes in the taste. Quite complex for a beer like this and that sometimes detracts from the enjoyment of light beers for me but not really in this case.
