Hazy deep gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and dry with mild fine carbonation. Light dry malts, little unsweet caramel. Bitter floralness. Mild bubblegum ester underneath. Mild dry citrus before a dry finish. Not a very good bitter and a terrible IPA!

Bottle from Waitrose. Clear amber body with a thin white head. Low carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of orange marmalade and metal. Flavour of earth and orange. Peppery finish. Thin body with an oily texture. Soft fizz. Earthy and spicy.

500ml Bottle (as Diamond Jubilee IPA) : BBD 12 May 2014, poured into two half-pint glasses at home on 15 Feb 2014. A full and fairly deep white crown sat on top of both golden copper coloured halves, the beer being clear and clean looking. The nose and taste were a fine blend of semi-sweet maltiness with peppery, spicy hops and a fruity undertone. Easy to drink and with enough alcohol kick to let you know you’ve had a drink.

Bottle from Waitrose. Deepish gold ber with thin white head. It’s a decent fruity premium bitter. Some peppery hop on the finish. Decent malts. It’s actually a good example of what an ESB should be. Fine.

Big thanks to quack-duck for that one. Bottle in unusual format, but looks good. Beer in the glass dusty-yeasty, small head. Starts strong, quite soapy, metallically-dry. Finish moldy with hints of lemon. Strange IPA.

Bottle as "Duchy Originals from Waitrose Organic India Pale Ale". Edgeware Waitrose in London. Pours copper with a few white bubbles. Aroma is fruity. HInt of citrus. Med body. Flavor is a little earthy with some very light roast malt and something like very light stone fruit - maybe peach. It is bitter, but not too much so, so I’m wondering why this isn’t a "bitter" rather than an IPA. Ah well. Drinks ok.

(bottle, 2012 edition) Hazy, golden colour with a short off-white foamy head. Slightly yeasty malty aroma with notes of English orange marmalade and a touch of caramel. Mildly sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a soft, if not tame carbonation. Fruity and malty taste with yeasty spots and shy hints of caramel; sweet-bitter, fruity and slightly woody hoppy finish. Rather average. 06.II.13
