Cask@Railway, Streatham, London - dark Amber pour with small off white head. Toasty and sweet malty with some notes of cereal, rye, some caramel sweetness, slight twiggy herbal hoppy bitter into the close.

Keg at the Euston Tap , East Lodge, 10/02/17. Rich murky chestnut brown with a well appointed beige cap. Nose is dusty hops, toffee, light spice, sweet tunes. Taste comprises caramel, tropical fruit esters, airy malts, toasted brown sugar, sticky bins, light pine needle. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close dashed with earthy hop bitterness. Decent.

Keg tap from Cambridge Blue. Brownish red, clear with a rung of tan head. Black cherries and malt aroma. Intense sweet jammy smell. Taste starts really sweet, staying pretty sweet throughout most of the sip, although the finish and aftertaste have a pronounced bitterness. This has character.

Bottle at home in London - picked up at Kris Wines. This beer pours clear, rich gold with a creamy, off-white head. The aroma has nice, dynamic wholegrain bread character with flourishes of spicy rye, pine, and ripe orange. The flavor is medium sweet with nicely rounded breadiness, more wholegrains, subtle piney spice, further ripe citrus, some earth, orange rind, and background grass. It’s medium bodied with fine carbonation and slightly oily mouthfeel. The finish has lots of juicy, orangey hops, further resinous pine, lingering wholegrain bread, some bitter grain husk. In the aftertaste I get mild floral elements. Nice work, Bellevile.

Bottle from ’Jacks’ Westholme Stores, Goring-on-Thames, Oxon consumed at home Thursday 12th June 2014 Far better than expected and a jolly decent beer. Amber in colur, little murky, with off-white head. Really decent bitterness. I like the rye, quite straightforward rustic flavour but nice bitter bite, a tinsy bite dry, its nice. Cask at the Flying Pig. It pours clear deep amber with a small beige head. The nose is earthy, spice, toast, brown bread and light caramel. The taste is bitter, earthy, spice, brown bread, varnish, wood and leather with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Decent, but not much depth.
