17th November 2014
Old Fountain. Keg. Hazy gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is airy, semi dry and with a fine minerally crispness. Light malts. Herby floralness. Little spice. Touch of grapefruit pith. Floralness turns sweeter before a light crisp finish. Not bad at all.

Cask at the brewpub in Hackney, one-third pint. Yellow-golden body. Not much head, nice lacework. Fruit and grassy smell, rather sweet. Spiced fruity taste added by hay and a little yeasty fruitiness to the ending. Soft in the mouth. On an average level, more or less (London 26.09.2014).

Keg at the brewery taproom - London. Pours cloudy yellow with a tight, white cream head. The nose holds dry flaked wheat, zesty lemon, balanced background saison yeast. Light to medium sweet flavor with nicely layered pale wheat bread, light dough, some bitter straw and lemon rind. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Fairly crisp to finish with further dry wheat, hints of cereal, straw, mellow bitterness, some tangerine. Well balanced overall. Easy drinking, with nice depth. Solid everyday saison.

Taste comprises light yeast esters, lemon rind, spice, citric peel, bread dough. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close. Ok saison, pretty basic but clean and refreshing in the execution.
