Cask at the Monk’s Retreat, Reading. Amber with a thick cream head and a light sparkle. Sweet and juicy from the off with sherbert and orange and caramel and marmalade. A little graininess but a good rich mouthfeel. Really quite a lot of sherbert now and maybe some strawberries. Only a mild bitterness to balance but somehow it works for me, although I suspect some may find it too sweet. A slightly unusual IPA but I like it - yet another great collab from Adnams.

Cask at the Pennsylvanian, Ricky, 28/02/14. Very lightly hazed amber with a decent beige head. Nose is bitter fruit, malt, hint of orange, perfume, toffee. Taste comprises light floral notes, orange pith, straw, mandarin, caramel. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close with a fair dose of astringent bitterness. Definately not one of Adnams better collabs, better than listless twig but pretty ho-de-hum.

Shakespeare’s Head. Spoons. Cask. Clear amber beer, decent pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth and dry with modest carbonation. Thin dry caramel soaked malts. Modest citric hop. Big floral bitterness. Trace of bubblegum ester. Dry finish. Mmmm l- I didn’t realise we had a shortage of harsh bitters over here, good job we are dragging the US over here to plug that gap. Pants!.

Cask at the Greyhound (JDW), Maidenhead. Amber with a tight cream head; aroma of peach stones; a heavy grainy body with some stony peach; and a weighty sour grain finish with some warmth. Not great.

Cask at the Victoria Station Spoons - London. Pours clear amber-gold with a frothy, off-white head. The aroma holds some lightly toasted malts, ripe orange, some grain and pine. Medium sweet flavor with further toasty, grainy bread, slight brown sugar and caramel, ripe citrus, toffee. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes sweet with mild piney and earthy bitterness, more grainy bread, orange, some rind. OK.

Cask hand pull jdw lord moon of mall. Clear amber lasting white head. It?s an odd apa. Some adnams yeast on the aroma. Some sweet malt in the mouth some apple. Hops are there to make it a bitter more than an apa. Certainly not how I remember brutal bitter tasting from rogue. Ok.

Cask at William Jolle (Spoons), Northwood Hills. An amber coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Malty, caramel aroma. Tastes malty, caramel, bitter/sweet. Not what I would call an IPA but still decent.
