Bottle shared at the ’Beers of London’ Tasting MkII, Bespin Cloud City - Hyde Park zone, thanks to Paulo 11/02/15. Very lightly hazed amber with a moderate beige head. Nose is big on peat, bandaid, toffee, cardboard twinge. Taste comprises sweet lickings, toffee, toasted brown sugar, big peaty twang. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Not a great balance to this one, sweet and smoke mish mash, pass.

Bottleshare at Leighton’s flat. Thanks to Paul. Hazy amber beer, good bubbly cream colour head. Palate is light and dry, mild fine carbonation. Light airy malts give way to fairly big TCP and band aids. Little orange dried fruits before a light dry finish. Mild bitter linger. Yep - a bit too TCP.

Bottle shared at the Gardens - thanks to Paul. Pours clear amber with a frothy off-white head. The nose holds some peat, plastic, burnt grains. Medium sweet flavor, pretty dry, some earth, smoke, burnt grain. Medium to full bodied, oily, with fine carbonation. Warming finish with some burnt wood, toasted caramel, more earth, subtle plastic. So so.

Bottle shared at Leightons. It pours deep red-brown with a small beige head. The nose is big smoked peat, medicinal, tcp, wood, Islay whisky, caramelised banana, some sweetness and dried fruits. The taste is bitter, woody, medicinal, light burnt plastic, dried fruits, raisin, charred earth and toasty grain with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Nice aroma and a step up from the sherry, but still has some odd burnt plastic going down.

Flaske delt på på RBDH-samlingen hos Asle Bjørn: rødbrun med kort, storboblet skum. Lukter tang, fjære og grunnsmøring. Treverk, vanilje og sure sokker. Sære greier, her trenger jeg lang tilvenning.

Shared 330 ml bottle at local tasting, ABV is 7.1%. Fairly dark reddish brown colour, low off-white head. Fairly strong aroma av peat smoke and tar, some sweetish vinous notes in the background. The flavour is first medium sweet, and ends dry and ashy. Strong notes of peat smoke throughout.

Bottle at Craig’s from Alesela. Pours hazy brown with a thin white head. Basically, as with a lot of beers aged this way, it’s like chewing a piece of wood. And if you like doing that, you’ll like this. The beer underneath is obliterated.
