Mosaic, Simcoe and Chinook version. Very hazy dark amber - brown beer, small cream colour head. Palate is light, smooth and semi dry. Mild fine carbonation. Mellow dark malts, trace of roast. Light malt cream and dark chocolate. Hops are smooth pine with lesser passion fruit and orange. Finishes smooth. Nice CDA but could be punchier for it’s abv.

Bottle at home, after garden chores - big thanks to the Wingman for picking this up for me, 30/05/15. Rich mahogany brown with a well appointed beige covering that retains well. Nose is pine, Ribena berry, charr, earthy hops, liquorice, light spice. Taste comprises sticky red berries, light spice, pine resin, charr, dark malt, earthy hops, more liquorice, Ribena berry. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close peppered with earthy hop bitterness. Solid XDA - ticks all the boxes well.

Keg @ Old Gate, Hebden Bridge. Dark reddish-brown with a thin head. Has a fullish tropical fruit aroma and taste with some darker malts involved too. Strong but not overbearing.

Tap. Friends of Ham, Leeds. Clear, very dark, reddy brown. Thick, lasting, bubbly, off white head. Brûléed grapefruit. Blackcurrant. Some pine resin. Soft, roasty, coffee malts. Taste is vanilla sweet. Roast bitter. Smooth, full, rich palate. Finishes pithy, roast malt bitter. Really nice.

Keg at Brewdog Shepard’s Bush. Clearing up the last of the tap takeover. Nice opaque black coloured pour with a lasting creamy mid tan head. Aroma is dried coco powder, earthy pine, resin. Background roast and citrus on the nose as well. Flavour is composed of initially rounded nutty choc malts, earthy bark, pine and then charred burnt toast in the finish. Palate is medium full and creamy, milky with moderate carbonation. Lingering burnt toast and piney hop matter. Decent bipa.

Keg at BrewDog Sheps Bush. It pours jet black with a decent beige head. The nose is toasty, earth, roasted malt, dark chocolate, liquorice, citrus peel and burnt toast. The taste is bitter roast, earth, toasty, charred pine, orange muffin, burnt wood, pepper, tar and chocolate with a dry, roasty finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Punchy stuff. Decent CDA.

Keg at BDSB - London. Pours clear, deep brown with a creamy tan head. The aroma holds lots of toasty bread, some burnt cereal, a bit of rindy citrus. Medium sweet flavor, fairly dry, with notes of bittersweet baking cocoa, earth, citrus rind. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Quite dry on the finish, with well toasted bread, more bittersweet cocoa, earth, burnt grains. Good CDA.
