Hazy amber beer, good white head. Palate is crisp and fairly dry. Dry malts, some sweetness and malt cream. Touch of wood. Little floralness. Citric peel and mild marmalade. Pine. Finishes semi dry. Comes together very well indeed. Drinks well under it’s abv and I opened this 750 at the start of the Season 5 finale of Game of Thrones and had finished the bottle well before the show!

Cask at the Craven Arms. Punchy stuff, but tasty. Some alcohol, resinous hops, pale bread. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Sticky finish with ripe citrus fruits, alcohol, mellow bitter pine. Warming, resinous. Quite a robust beer for the cask. But it pulls it off to a degree.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Been wanting to try this for ages. Could have got it on cask post Cotteridge, but wasn’t going to do it justice, I reckon. And from the sounds of it, I may have done ok out of it. As it is, from a bottle, it’s murky gold. Film of white. Lovely, honey, and vanilla ice cream thing going on. Some peachy, tropical fruit hop. Some dirty resin reigning in the sweetness. Drinks full, rich, oily, dank, chewy, and soft, rising bitter. Soft carbonation adds to the sensation. Finishes long, chewy, full, lasting, surprisingly soft bitter. Fantastic, big IPA.

Cask at the Craven Arms, post Cotts, 24/01/15. Clear golden with a decent off white cap. Nose is pine, grapefruit, malty, bitter orange. Taste comprises more grapefruit notes, melon, a little raw, earthy hop, caramel. Medium + body, soft carbonation, semi drying close with residual boozedom. Ok for a cask DIPA but I’m sure it would be better all kegged up!

Cask at the Craven Arms. Thanks to Rich. Clear golden coloured pour with a loose off white head. Aroma is sharp orange, citrus, light resin. Flavour is grainy, sharp orange citrus, resin. Palate is semi sticky. Some resin, moderate carbonation. Pretty clean.

Cask at the Craven Arms. It pours clear golden with a decent white head. The nose is bitter-sweet, sticky, orange, peach and brioche. The taste is rich, bitter-sweet, juicy citrus, mango, peach, orange, big hit of booooze, sticky sweetness and cointreau. Medium+ body and soft carbonation. I always find double IPAs on cask a bit sweet and boozy. Decent enough stuff anyhow. Would like to try it on keg at some point...

Cask at the Craven Arms, Birmingham. Pours dark gold with a small head. Aroma is sweet mango. Taste has lots of sticky caramel and mango. Dangerously drinkable.

Cask at the Craven Arms; clear light amber pour with a frothy beige head, grapefruit and pineapple aroma, taste has tropical fruit action, some caramel, ABV not present, dangerously drinkable.
