An extra deep brown head on a dark brown body. Nose is coffee and chocolate. This is an odd one. I am immediately hit by a slightly sour bitterness, followed by chocolate, mild coffee, and a touch of cream. There are some other unusual stout tastes, including cooked vegetables, cola and ash. The body and texture are a bit on the thin side, but not bad.

Can from the brewery. Incredibly black pour, with a big dark brown head. A solid roasty, cocoa nose, with some coffee, and chalkiness. Creamy, soft mouth feel, with a medium carb. Sweet cocoa, very roasty finish. Lingering notes of coffee, and more chalkiness.

Aromas of chocolate, toast, brownies and coffee. Black in color and well opaque, it develops a semi-creamy foam of moderately thin size that persists quite well. The taste is well chocolate reminiscent of brownies, toast and comes in slightly roasted bitterness that persists for several seconds. Sweet esters are present in the form of molasses and black fruits. End of mouth quite dry. Fairly round body with a slightly velvety texture. Carbonation is active for style. An excellent stout. Very bitter. Balanced. With fruity esters and a creaminess that make it extremely drinkable. Can thanks to Wingman. It pours black with a small tan head. the nose is toasty, umami, roasted malt, salted liquorice and milk chocolate. The taste is sweet roast, milk chocolate, sugary, cola, stickiness and burnt caramel with short finish. Medium body, average carbonation and sticky mouth-feel. I found this one a bit sweet and one-dimensional.

Can shared at a CBC Clerkenwell tasting - London. Cheers to Dave for this treat. Pours rich black-brown with a creamy, tan head. The aroma has notes of milk chocolate, light roast and burnt toast. Medium sweet flavor with some sugary chocolate, light minerality, ash, raisins. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Moderately sweet on the finish, with more roast and cocoa. Not bad, really.
