Named after a village near Wrexham, this beer was brewed for Heston Blumenthal's show Pub in a Pie. A delicate amber ale with heather flowers steeped into the beer as it ferments giving it a soft herbal/floral aroma and flavour.

2016 catch up - Bottle at home - Very interesting "woody" flavour from the heather that sat alongside the malt. Different, but quite nice after I got used to it.

Piwo wrzosowe, w smaku wyczuwalny kwiat wrzosu, troche lawendy i jakis ziol. W smaku ziolowe i lekko miodowe oczywiscie wrzosowe posmaki takze. Metne jasno bursztynowe z minimalna piana, oszczedna etykieta. Bitter walijski wrzosowy mozna polecac

500ml bottle conditioned: poured into an Abbot Ale glass tankard at home early hours of 15th April 2016. Bit of a gusher, only got half the bottle into the tankard: huge off-white head though! Slight hazy look to the golden body. Mild herbal and yeasty feel to the nose and taste, not too sure what ’heather’ tastes like to be honest, but it did not have an aroma that reminded of the open moors or wild flowers either. Fairly bitter, even though there is a healthy malt presence: decent and a little different flavour wise. Gets an OK from me.

Bottle at the second 42nd Floor tasting. It pours clear gold with a medium white head. The nose is toasty, grainy, perfumed, floral, mellow orange aroma and straw. The taste is clean, slightly watery, soda water, orange peel and dull graininess with a short finish. Light body and fine carbonation. Aroma is ok, but there is very little to it on the taste. Forgettable.

500ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours hazy golden amber with a thick white head. Aromas of light nail varnish, light lemon, light dishwater. Taste is sweet, raspberry seeds maybe, something not quite right though. Sweet, thin, dry finish.

Bottle split on the 42nd floor, thanks to new Lando, 10/11/15. Clear golden with a decent off white covering. Nose is bready, light orange, fruity jam, straw. Taste comprises orange peel, straw, caramel, pinch of spice, light bread. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok .... veering more towards a golde than a bitter for me.
