Sample at CBC 2014. Hazy yellow/orange with a white head. A lot apples both in the aroma and taste. Also some brandy, oak and malt. Some light funk in the finish.

Sampled @ CBC 2014. Opaque hazy yellow to orange color, full sized off-white head. Weird aroma of fermenting and rotting fruits, spices, herbs, some alcohol, lightly liquor. Taste doesn’t please me either. Not my thing I guess.

Bottle 75 cl. Comes as a massive and violent gusher leaving less than 50% of the original content left in the bottle - so be warned! Pours a cloudy, opaque orange with a thick, off-white head. Heavy Brett aroma combined with some wood and apricot. Medium body, very soft on the palate - smooth even. Has a harsh sulphurous note, again wood and apricots with some funk on the side. And also quite a bit of bitterness in the finish. A rather messy brew - in so many ways. 150414

Thx to Travlr. 75 cl. bottle sampled. Hazy bright orange with an okay creamy white head. Nose is brett, orange, light yeast, children aspirin, quite lactic,… Taste is lot of brett in the taste, very explosive with lots of carb. lightly lactic, tart; touch old, moldy apple, child aspirin, strong bitter, touch lactic lemon,… Explosive carb. Nice but not entirely there.

Bottle from the source, shared at kraddel’s 21st birthday tasting in Antwerp. Almost a gusher. Cloudy golden color, large fluffy white head with good retention and solid lacing. Aroma of vanilla, cider, lemon, very subtle barnyard. Taste is smooth brandied applesauce, light spice, pepper, dust. Hi carbonation. Delicious.

22/IV/13 - 75cl bottle @ Rampkrot (Deurne) - BB: n/a (2013-370) Thanks to Travlr for sharing the bottle!

Little cloudy orange beer, big creamy off-white head, little stable, adhesive. Aroma: bit sugary, orange peel, apple sauce, calvados. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: very bitter start, apple skin, citrus, bit sugary, some alcohol. Aftertaste: little sweet, calvados, pretty bitter, almonds, citrus, hoppy ending. I'm still not convinced that it's a good idea to barrel age a tripel, but Kasteelbier could learn a thing or two from this one.

Bottle shared at the Richmond Industry Gathering. Huge props to whoever brought this.. Pours a hazy golden color with a large creamy white head. Good head retention. Aroma of bread, whisky, butterscotch, faint wood. The taste is wood, soy, brandy, peppery notes and bready malts. Full bodied, a little rough, but otherwise excellent.
