Bottle shared at Cotteridge convention 05/03/2016. Thanks to Dave. A nut brown coloured pour with no head. Aroma is powdered chocolate, berry fruits, nutty, little boozy. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, chocolate malts, praline, arthy nutty malts, hint of bitter liquorice in the finish. Palate is semi swet, milky, lowish carbonation. Decnt.

Bottle shared at the Cotteridge Convention - 2016 edition. Cheers! Pours clear brown with a tan cream topping. The nose holds toasty malts, light cocoa and ash. Medium sweet flavour with moderate roast character, some chocolate, dried leathery fruits. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Dry on the finish with further notes of cocoa. Good one.

Bottle thanks to Dave at Cotteridge Convention 2016. It pours deep brown with a small beige head. The aroma is rich, sweet oily, creamy, tapioca, wood and some chocolate cake. The taste is crisp, bitter, toasted malts, earth, wood, quite chewy, ash, coffee grounds and some acidity. Medium body and fine carbonation. The aroma stands out, but the taste doesn’t quite live up to it. Decent anyhow.

Cask. Gravity dispense. 41st Steel City Beer Festival. Clear, very dark red. Light tan, bubbly head. Nose has robust, chocolate, and roast coffee malts. Ash, and charred wood elements. Taste is fruity, slightly vinous bitter. Some sweetness on the lips. Moderate to full body. Finishes rising, lasting, fruity bitter. (I wondered when the hops might kick in). Very drinkable for a style I don’t normally go for.
