Double American pale ale

Twice the hops, twice the punch, and twice the fun.

This is a limited edition double version of our popular A.P.A made with a plethora of US hops. Sunset golden in colour, this beer is an explosion of tropical fruit flavours and packs a powerful resinous finish. Strong, yet easy drinking and best drunk fresh.

Bottle at home. Poured nicely, with a gentle hop aroma. This really was a proper pale ale, gentle but fresh hops and a maltiness that added to the mouthfeel. I really couldn’t taste the alcohol in what, ultimately, was a very good pale ale. I liked this a lot.

A hazy yellow gold colour with a large frothy off white head. Fruity and floral hoppy aroma, tropical fruit, lemon grass, and pine. Medium sweet taste, orange peel, pine and grassy flavours and a strong astringent bitter finish.

High Wycombe Walkabout. Red Squirrel Tap Room. Keg. Lightly hazy gold beer, good pale cream colour head. Thin malts, light creamy sweetness. Floral hops that get a tad soapy. Light citric fruits and pith. Dry finish. Mild bitter linger. Mostly inoffensive but there so many better DIPAs around.

330ml bottle from the brewer. Hazy orange with a large off-white head. Aroma: very hoppy, juicy tropical fruit, grass, pine, floral. Taste: tropical fruit, grass, pine, light sweet and medium bitter. Soft carbonation, texture feels a little thin but overall pretty decent.

Keg at Red Squirrel. It pours lightly hazy gold with a medium white head. The aroma is grassy, herbal, floral, soapy, brioche and bread. The taste is crisp, dry, bitter, earthy, grassy, floral, peppery spice, bread, alcohol, varnish and some soap with a drying finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Decent enough stuff, but no game changer.
