Cask @ Cuthbert Brodrick, Leeds. Clear golden with a small creamy head. Has a session texture that slips down the palate with ease. Sugary in its nose, it has a hoppy-sweetened taste.

Cask-conditioned, on gravity, at the Commercial Rooms, Bristol October 2016. Golden in colour, with a slight, off-white, head. Some sweet, slightly bready, malts, touch of stone fruits and a moderately bitter finish. Bland.

Cask at the Booking Office. Pours clear golden with a thin white head. Aromas of light elderflower, lemon curd on Scottish plain toast. Taste is light sweet, bready, a pissy note. Sharp mineral vibe. Ok.

Cask at George, Croydon. It pours clear amber with a small beige head. The aroma is toasted grain, brown bread, earth, wood and leather. The taste is sweet, grainy, peppery spice, toffee, light floral, grass and a touch of tea leaf. Finish is bitter - sweet. Light - medium body and soft carbonation. Pretty forgettable stuff.

Cask at the Crosse Keys, JDW - London. Pours clear gold with a creamy, white head. Grains in the nose, a little damp hay, cereal. Light sweet flavour with doughy malts, light bitter hay, faint honey, white bread. Light bodidd with fine carbonation; decent condition. Sweet finish, with some crispy biscuit, more pale grains, straw. Pretty basic.

Cask handpull at Crosse Keys JDW London. Clear deep gold colour lasting white head. Certainly my most wanted beer of the festival a saison brewed by my local regional brewer. Well I am struggling to find any saison character. It’s a thin golden ale. Some vague hop sting on the finish. Not a saison. Vague yeast character eventually. Hmmmm.

On cask at the Alexander Graham Bell. Appearance - golden amber with a decent head and a slight haze. Nose - elusive. Taste - tropical fruit, lychee and like overripe kiwi. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - decent.

Cask hand pull at the. Moon under water Watford Jdw. A clear golden orange coloured pour with no head. Aroma is twiggy nutty malts, tangy apple, raisin. Flavour is composed of light grains, nutty, thin, brown sugars little apple. In no way, shape or form could this be considered a saison. A poor imitation of an English bitter. Not good. Palate is semi sweet thin, sugary malts, lowish carbonation shite.
