Can at home in Barbados, 10th April 17. Pours golden, not much head. Aroma is tangerine, light citrus, very pleasant. Taste is light pine, tangerine, apricot skin and stone, bitterness is present and is perfect unlike some of the other EC IPAs lately, the balance with a great malt grain presence is impressive. Otherall this DIPA has great qualities and balance.

Keg at the Cock, 27/03/17. Golden amner with a decent off white covering. Nose is caramel malt, light pine needle, straw, bitter orange, toasted bread. Taste comprises grapefruit, mango, orange marmalade, toasted brioche, light spice, fresh grass. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, closes with lightly aggressive hop bitterness. Decent enough DIPA ... drinks pretty easily but expected a bit more from these guys.

Can at home picked up from caps and taps. A lightly hazed pale golden coloured pour with a lasting fine white head. Aroma is spicy citrus hops, London rind, some hot alcohol, little varnish, sharp citrus. Palate is semi sweet, rounded, sticky hop, moderate carbonation . Flavour is composed of light grains, little raw grain, spicy lemon rind, citrus, little wood. Assertive relatively clean bitterness. Little rough round the edges.

Can picked up at Hop Locker. It pours cloudy deep orange with a medium white head. The aroma is rich, sweet, very juicy, peachy, mango, papaya, marmalade, brioche and candied peel. The taste is crisp, dry, some grassy bitterness, mango, peachy pulp. papaya, fruit smoothie, bread, bit of pine, lick of alcohol and minerals with a dry and fruity finish. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Maybe doesn’t quite sing like some of verdant’s recent offerings, but it is tasty. nonetheless.

Can from The Beerhive. Hazy golden body with a thick off-white head. Lively carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of toffee and grapefruit zest. Flavour of tinned grapefruit, white sugar and dried orange peel. Medium body with a slick, sticky mouthfeel. Soft fizz. It’s a decent beer but, for me, it lacks hoppy ’brightness’.

28th February 2017
Can. Citra, Centennial and Chinook hops. Light haze on this gold beer, tidy cream colour head. Palate is a little thin and mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Light malts, light creamy sweetness. Nibbly hop spice. Tangy orange and tangerine and mild lemon. Modest tropical fruits. Dry smooth and slightly bitter finish. Bitterish linger. A little on the tangy side to be great but it is a good one.

Keg at the Hop Locker - London. Pours hazy orange-gold with a frothy, white head. The aroma has ripening, gooey citrus notes, some pine, faint dank edge. Medium sweet flavour with dense hop character, some sugary citrus fruits lightly ripened, melon, papaya, mango, moderate piney bitterness. Full bodied with balanced, massaging carbonation. Good balance in the finish, some boozy warmth and oily pine, some tropical fruit and jammy citrus, slight cutting minerality. Really good stuff overall.
