A well-balanced amber ale with a good kick of fresh ginger and bitter finish – refreshingly different. The name comes from a Copperhead (‘Copperheid’ in Scots) which is a piece of ‘aid climbing’ kit, famous on scary routes up El Capitan in California’s Yosemite.

Level 42 Bottleshare and no Mark King in sight. Thanks to Wingman. Light haze on this gold beer, tidy pale tan head. Palate is smooth and semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Smooth malts, sweetish. A slightly medicinal tasting ginger - fruity conglomeration. Mild spice. Smooth semi dry finish. Not too bad.

Bottle shared in London. Pours clear orange with a creamy topping. Big ginger in the nose, dried pale malts, citrus peel. Light to medium sweet flavour with more spicy ginger, dried citrus peel, bread crust. Light bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with more spicy ginger, simple dry pale bread. Fun one.

Bottle from Aldi’s, Inverurie. It pours lightly hazy deep orange - amber with a medium white head. The aroma is bready, spicy, ginger bread, toasty grain and cereal. The taste is crisp, dry, bitter, fiery ginger, pepper, hint of lemon peel, cereal and toasty grain with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Pretty well balanced, not too spicy. Good for the style.

500ml bottle from trade with AshtonMcCobb. Many thanks. Pours clear copper, medium off-white head. Ginger beer aroma. Taste is nicely gingery, but not overly so. Lovely soft toffee and fruity undertones. I like ginger beer and I like this.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - copper as the man called it. Nose - powdered ginger and light biscuit. Taste - more of the same. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - it’s a well made beer, just not a big fan of ginger dominated beers.

Bottle shared with Ashton McCobb. Pours clear amber with a thin off-white head. Aromas of powdered ginger. Taste is ginger, light sweet. Spicy finish. Too much ginger for me, would prefer a more subtle spicing.
