WHITE BURGUNDY BARREL AGED IPA
Four years in planning. Wonderfully aromatic new season New Zealand hops mix with soft oak and delicate fruit aromas from months ageing in white Burgundy barrels. Added to this are intriguing aromatics from the wild yeast present in the fresh wine lees on which the beer was conditioned.
Southern Conspiracy is the fifth addition to our UN/LIMITED range.
THE UN/LIMITED COLLECTION
Our UN/LIMITED range is all about experimentation and the creation of something extra special, our brewers have been given the freedom to get really creative. These are brewers beers for those with adventurous tastes: a premium product on the higher end of the alcohol percentage scale so that flavour can be maximized.
ALLERGENS: Wheat & barley malt

20th Nov 2017. Shrewsbury Beer Share Group Meeting in Chez Sophie. 330ml bottle: 6.8% ABV: BB 10th Nov 2018. No idea who brought this, but it wasn't me (Mat seems to think it was me, but wasn't). Anyway, it came out a misty golden colour and had a white topping on it. Nose had a citrus leaning with off-notes, taste similar, lost the wine somewhere at least for me. Not the best beer I've had from BBF.

330ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie Nov 17, courtesy of Bladdock. Pours a hazy golden orange, small off-white head. Aroma is bretty fruity funk. Taste is bretty, lightly prickly.. not getting a massive amount of white wine influence. Tis a little oaky. Decent.

330ml bottle. White burgundy barrel aged at 6.8%. Pours hazy dark orange with a medium head. Aroma is sharp sour lemon, with tropical hop underneath. Taste has tropical hop throughout with a light sour finish. Woody aftertaste. Lambic-esque.

Bottle. Archer Road Beer Stop, Sheffield. Pale copper colour. Light haze. Thin, dense, sticky, white head. Has that barrel aged legginess. Nose has white wine, oak, and clean, fresh hop. Nothing else required. Smells incredibly clean, verging on menthol medicinal. Lovely. Taste has a soft, white grape tang. A little sour, and a little bitter. Crisp mouthfeel. Vinous, oaky finish. Knocked me out, this. Absolutely lovely.

Bottle (6.8% ABV) from Beer Gonzo. Hazy amber body with a thin off-white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of green apple, kiwi fruit, chardonnay and cloudy lemonade. Flavour of oak, lemon peel and minerals. Medium body with an oily texture. Soft fizz. Funky and complex. One of my favourite beers yet from Bristol Beer Factory.

The Hope, Carlshalton. 7.0% bottle from the fridge. Hazy gold beer, big fluffy white head. Palate is slightly dry and a little crispy. Medium citric hops with a nice touch of gooseberry tartness. Then the white wine tang kicks in, it becomes quite strong picking up a creamy white wine vibe. Finishes sharp and slightly sour and dry. Very satisfying and original beer. The bottle vanished!

Bottle, 7% at the Evening Star, Brighton. It pours hazy straw yellow with a medium white head. The nose is dough, grapefruit, gooseberry, white grape, kiwi, some spice and nettles. The taste is grapefruit, lemon, tart gooseberry, melon, white grape, pithy, strong soap, wood, assertive bitterness, vinous aspect, dough and underling spice with a long, bitter-dry finish. Medium body, moderate carbonation and velvety mouth-feel. Good depth of flavour and well balanced. An impressive brew all-round.
