Gravity cask at the Blue Boar, Leicester. Almost black, opaque with an uneven loose khaki head. Roast malt, liquorice, spruce in the aroma with come cinnamon and a little bit of lime zest. Initially there's a lovely fruity sweetness to the taste, but the finish is far drier. Astringent notes to the finish obscure the more interesting flavours of cocoa bitters, bramble, horehound, more liquorice. Very interesting stuff, incredibly well put-together.

T42 Christmas Bottleshare. Opaque dark brown beer, good tan head. Smooth palate, semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Somewhat old dark malts, a little perfumey floralness sits awkwardly with the mild malt roast. Turns bitter in the mid, citrus emerges. Smooth finish. A little odd, but not awful.

On tap at The 23 Club. Pours near clack with a brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has dark grains and roasted malts with a decent amount of pine supporting. Flavor is similar with dark grains and roasted malts supported by a bit of earthy pine and grass.
