Black with a big beige head. Smells of blackcurrant and malt. Taste is salted caramel like normal Chew Chew, with a good tart hit of blackcurrant, chocolate, malt. The blackcurrant tartness makes it feel quite different while still feeling like a normal, non-gimmicky stout. Rich and tasty.

Bottle at Brewdog, Doghouse, Merchant City, Glasgow, Sunday 11th February 2018 in the company of Nick and Anna. Pours black, wow this is a real fruity zappy beer after the Choco Libre, but it's very nice. The finish is a little bit dry, the berries really show, it's a lovely beer and quite different to the raspberry version I had earlier. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov16 3.9

Keg at MK BG, 05/02/18. Light black with a reddish glint topped with a tan head. Nose is chocolate, blackberries, mellow roast, fruit slice, light spice. Taste comprises toffee, light roast, blackberry jam, cocoa rub, baking powder, very fruit muffin. Medium plus body, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a light boost effect. Ok fun impy but perhaps a little overtaken by the berries.

Can from Oddbaws. Appearance - opaque black, oliven sheen, elegant fawn head. Nose - blackcurrant, black chocolate and caramel. Taste - lovely intermingling of blackcurrant and dark chocolate. Palate - creamy and medium to full bodied. Overall - good, would maybe say that the blackcurrant overwhelms the chocolate notes somewhat.

Bodney Towers bottleshare. Thanks to Scopey for the can. Opaque dark brown beer, good tan head. Smooth palate, light and dry. Thin but rich dark malts, good chocolate, chocolate fudge and caramel. Nicely judged blackcurrant and a little cherry twang if you are looking for it. Smooth semi dry finish. Chocolatey fruity linger. Nice.
