Bottle at Café Derat, Utrecht. Aroma is roasty with lots of grindy coffee, cocoa, chocolate, caramel, some mocha, with a touch of tobacco and liquorice. Flavour is medium sweet with a firm roasty bitterness. Body is medium. Very good Coffee Porter.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up at the brewery. Pours deep brown with a creamy, tan head. Nice mix of light roast coffee and milk chocolate in the aroma. Light to medium sweet flavour with more silky chocolate, milky coffee, decent ashy bitterness, earth, tobacco. Medium bodied with fine carbonation and velvety texture. Finishes with more sturdy roasted malts, bittersweet coffee and baking cocoa, further earthy bitterness. Great stuff overall.

Keg at the brewery. Opaque dark brown beer, bubbly tan head. Palate is light and dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Dry dark malts, a little earthy. Unsweet dark chocolate. Fairly rich coffee, well integrated, slightly bitter. Fruity coffee before the dry slightly bitter finish, decent stuff.

Keg at BBNo. It pours jet black with a medium light tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, earth, cocoa butter, chocolate, red berry and forest fruits. The taste is bitter, charred wood, rich roasted malt, earthy coffee vibes, cocoa, dark chocolate, tobacco, red fruits, spice and a lick of alcohol with a dry, toasty finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Fruits and rich. Tasty stuff.

Keg at the brewery,stable dense creamy mocha head, opaque very dark brown color, delicate coffee aroma with mocha and light roasted notes and green hints and some chocolate coming through, coffee becomes stronger in time, dark chocolate and mocha flavor, medium mellow bitterness. Nice and enjoyable, highly sessionable.

Bottle from the brewery in Bermondsey and drunk at home. Black beer lasting tan head. Coffee jumps out at you as you pour it. Dark chocolate. Good coffee flavour throughout. Good body. Good integrated flavours. Some dryness on the finish. I thought it was pretty good myself. Love a coffee porter.

Keg at the Brewery, 01/12/17. Black with a well presented tan head that retains well. Nose is lIght charr, toffee, coffee grinds, light spice, chocolate biscuit. Taste comprises roast malts, coffee beans - less intense than the aroma, burnt toffee, light charr, hint of fruits, toasted brown sugar. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Solid coffee porter ... plenty of flavour packed into the 6% ABV.
