0.33 l bottle from 'Sterk Avondverkoop', bottled in June 2017, cellared for about one-and-a-half years. Pitch black with a medium large, frothy, stable, light brown head. Sweetish-malty, gently roasty and slightly smoky-medicinal aroma of dark chocolate, licorice, some coffee and a touch of peat. Gently sweet, malty, quite roasty and moderately smoky-medicinal taste of dark chocolate, coffee, licorice, some peat and a touch of toasted nuts, followed by a long, gently roasty-bitter, slightly earthy, rather smoky-medicinal finish. Full body, smooth and creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Comes across as a bit simple, it's not really complex, especially considering the high abv and the barrel-aging. The highlights are the great balance and the pleasant mouthfeel which make for a nice sipper nevertheless.

Bottle shared with the KL tasting crew. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a thin broken tan head. The aroma is big roasty malt, peaty, bourbon. The flavour is moderate to light sweet with a smooth rich, roasty, boozy, dry woody alcohol bitter palate. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.

On tap at Lajbah, Ljubljana. Pours pitch black colour, topped with a creamy coffee coloured beige head, ok lasting. Quite a lot of chocolate notes in the aroma, some coffee and soy sauce. Notes of vanilla and wood, some dry fruits as well. Mildly sweet with chocolate, gentle roastiness. Milder bitterness. Very nicely hidden alcohol, not even warming. Slightly herbal touch in the finish. Medium full bodied. Nice one.

Sample from 33 cl bottle at De Molen Barrel Madness, at Biererei Bar & Vintage Cellar, Berlin, July 24. Vintage 2017. This was probably drunk too young. A bit raw barrel and rather hoppy. Otherwise great
