A special version of the Öö Baltic porter, brewed with blackcurrants.

Taste: On the palate is an explosion of dark fruits - blackcurrants, cranberries, plums, even dates. A sharp tartness comes through, followed by some delicate tannins, dark chocolates, and just a hint of warming alcohol. Coffee, toffee, and plums finally come through, all balanced by a rich malty body.

Bottle from Mister Hop. Cloudy black, stable, foamy, dark beige head. Aroma of chocolate sauce, marzipan, liqueur-filled pralines, blackcurrant, black tea, coffee bean, jam on toast. Taste has sweet fig & raisin and sourish blackcurrant embedded in a malty profile of pralines, almond & marzipan, slightly toasty too. Herbal hops in the finish, ongoing sourish & somewhat bitter berry skins and fondant; dash of warming liqueur-like alcohol (the kind you find in pralines). Medium body, thin oily texture, average carbonation. The fruit certainly has added value here, adding depth and 'fraîcheur'.

Tap at Goblet ZG. Either alive again or an old keg. Murky black body, with a thick beige nitro head. Bit floral tart, fruity aroma, some maltiness maybe, but not attractive. Much nicer taste, balancing out the roastiness with currant and tartness, smooth and nice. Not their best, but glad to have tried it!

Bottle, 0.33l. Black pour, one finger frothy beige head, short lasting. Minimal lacing on the glass. Fruity nose, black currant, cocoa, subtle roasty notes. Medium body, soft to medium carbonation, lively. Average mouthfeel and texture, soft, chewy, slightly sticky. Surprisingly goes down quite easily. Nicely balanced bittersweet taste. Aroma of roasted malt, cocoa, black currant and blueberries. Bready notes, light tart, woody. Mild citric notes. Subtle lingering alcohol in the background. Medium lasting finish, dry and liquory. Good.
