A collaboration brew with our friends at Lervig in Norway, this saison uses rooibos tea, lemon zest and Wai-Iti hops. The tea brings clean, aromatic berry notes, while the lemon zest makes a delicate, fruity bitter finish. A real ice-tea cooler of a saison.

Bottle at home. Aroma is lemon, fruits, rooibos tea, earthy notes, spicy and herbal notes. Flavour is moderate bitter with a little sweetness. Body is medium. I like the way fruity lemon and earthy herbal tea combine in this very drinkable Saison.

Bottle. Deep golden color. Indeed: rooibos and lemon in the aroma. Malty yet dry lemon flavor with tea. Hint of berries. Nice.

Bottle past it’s best before date from the bargain bin at Vonk. Slight hazy orange golden with fizzy off white head. Malts up front with a little fresh whole grain bread and a soft caramel sweetness. Some Rooibos, spicy yeast, fruits with peach and dried apple. There’s soft tannic Rooibos in the finish with some other herbs too. Medium sweet and bitter, about medium bodied. Held up quite nice, not too much Rooibos. Only downside is I don’t really get any lemon.

33cl Bottle from Vonk. Slightly hazy golden orange colour, white head. Aroma of earthy rooibos, yeast, floral, sweet. Flavour is medium sweet, rooibos, earthy, not much lemon tbh, light grainy, yeasty, bittersweet finish. Light bodied. OK, but would’ve liked more lemon and less rooibos.

Sampled draft @ Van Moll Fest 2016. Dark orange, small white head, lacing. Nose is mellow ice tea, some fruit, rooibos, low USA hop, lightly moldy ice tea. Taste is too yeasty for me, weird moldy rooibos (I must admit to not really liking rooibos in general), moldy ice tea, low sugar, air fresher, moldy orange peel,… Yeasty & low moldy,.. I suppose I would like it more if I was into rooibos.
