The Buechel OGs raid the GABF 2023: Poured a dark blackish brown with a bubble brown head. Aroma is boozy, whiskey, roasted malts, toffee. Taste is boozy burn, toffee, rich malts.

Bottle. A- Oak, chocolate, subtle roast. A- Black color, black liquid, minimal head. T- Oak, whisky, chocolate. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- Not bad but needed more complexity. There was plenty of bourbon influence and a nice base beer but I wanted more lucious rich chocolate notes and vanilla, etc. Good but not top notch.

Can, states bourbon barrels FWIW. Pours inky black, small tan head, nice residual and lacing. Aroma is a nice blend of bourbon, oaky vanilla, rich chocolate, hints of marsmallow and maple. Flavor does not quite deliver, medium plus sweet, light plus bitter, boozy, bourbon a bit too overt with prominent wood tannin alongside vanillin and chocolate. The nice balanced nose and marshmallow notes are lost, unfortunately. Full body, creamy mouthfeel. Kind of hot. Not a bad beer, and does mellow as it warms, but in the end it cant live up to the promise of the initial nose.

Black with a dark head. Boozy, vanilla, roasted malts, dark chocolate, molasses. Full bodied. Bourbon finish. Sweet throughout. Nice brew.

Can shared at Belgian Chimipalooza, thanks! Very dark brown with a beige head. Aroma of big bourbon barrel, oak, vanilla, chocolate, booze, caramel and fudge. Flavour is heavy sweet. Full bodied with alcohol warmth in the finish and soft carbonation.

Sample at the High Gravity Hullabaloo on 02/06/2016. Black pour with a medium foamy beige head that diminishes steadily to a film. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of whiskey, malt and fruit. Full-bodied with flavors of oaky bourbon, malt and ripe fruit. The finish is boozy with a whiskey and malt aftertaste. Pretty good overall.
