Buddy, pal, mate, brother (or sister) from another mother, compadre . . . sidekick. All of these are ways to describe someone or something that is always at your side. Sidekick extra pale ale is one of those things. This golden colored ale is loaded with juicy citrus and passion fruit hop aroma yet balanced with malt and hop character. A true companion.

Canned from GCT. This was pretty decent, nice hoppy aroma, some fruitienss but a pretty clean finish. Enjoyable session pale.

On tap at Two Brothers, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out earthy, spicy hops and some subdued tropical fruitiness. Flavour is herbal in the hop department, with biscuity malt to back. Not a fan of the hop character here, as it's rather herbal and somewhat vegetal. Meh.

On tap in STL during a family visit. Pours a clear pale yellow but has no head. Moderate citrus hops with cracker malt backing.

Can. Pours a cloudy gold with small white head that lasts. The aroma is fruity hop and faint pine. Medium mouth, juicy hop, light bitterness, crushable, very good.

Can, de et partagée avec Omgrich. BB 02/23/2016.

Thanks! 355 ml. can sampled @ “Tim’s Christmas Tasting”. BBF 23/02/2016. Golden, little white head. Nose is weird plastic hops, onion, weird herbs, floral, lemon, light sweetness. Taste is bit odd, dry, doughy yeast, plastic onion, floral, plastic grapefruit, weird bitter herbs, white grape. Quite dry body with light powdery yeast. Not bad but the hop profile on this one is a wee odd for me in order to fully get into it.

12 oz bottle purchased as a single at the Hy Vee near Drake in Des Moines, Iowa. Swirl by stamped 12/30/15 on the bottom of the can. The pour is a hazed yellow gold with a small white head. The aroma is faint grass, dank and a bit of resin. The taste is the nice resin, softly dank with lemon citrus and cereal grain underneath the hop. The palate is light bodied with soft natural carbonation and a dry mineral resin in the soft bitter finish. Solid Pale Ale.
