Poured from a 16 oz can dated October 15, 2019. Aroma is malt forward with toasted bread, crackers, caramel, toffee and nuts. Light floral esters and hop notes. Pours a dark brown with a medium sized, fairly thick, light tan head that recedes steadily to the edges where it lingers. Medium lacing and no legs. Flavor is somewhat sweet with a lot of malt character. Lots of caramel, toasted bread and cracker notes with lighter notes of toffee and nuts. Light floral water and hop notes. Hint of alcohol. Mouthfeel is medium light bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice beer. Great malt notes with a bit of some floral notes.

Bottle at Mikkeller SF. Nose is dark chocolate, cream, light roasty coffee, cookies. Almost black with orange tints and a thick, low head. Lovely chocolate flavor, chewy, rich, not very sweet. Lightly roasted, creamy, a touch of vanilla. Lovely stuff.

16.9 oz bottle. Aroma is toasted marshmallow, dark bread, chocolate, caramel, nutty. Pours dark brown to black with amber highlights; has a one finger beige head with decent retention. Taste starts out lightly sweet and roasty before quickly turning dry and moderately bitter. Flavors of roasted grain, dark bread, dark chocolate, light smoke. Perfect mouthfeel. Impressive and tasty.

Medium brown. Not much head. There's some toasty malt with just a hint of sugar and a little touch of smoke. On the palate, it's fairly malty, just a little bit of bitterness. The malt sugars are nice, slightly toffeeish, and there's just enough dryness in the finish to round it out. I wouldn't say it's perfect, but they have clearly paid attention to the details here, and the end result is one of the best-balanced schwarzbiers I've had from an American brewery. Solid work.

Aroma’s nice, roasty. Flavor’s not as good, roasty as well, a bit metallic, a hint putrid. Good body and clean finish.

Bomber from Beermongers. Pours a dark mahogany color with a large beige head. A sweet nose of light smoke, some leather, chocolate. The flavor is excellent: fruity hops, smoke, tobacco, light bitter chocolate. Light bitterness throughout, mixed with smoky malts and berries. Very damn good. Easy and hell.
