(Bottle) Dark brown colour, almost black, with brief frothy beige head. Malty nose with chocolate, toffee, vanilla, oak wood, dark bread, roasted nuts and hints of bourbon. Malty, sweet taste with notes of chocolate, oak wood, toffee, coffee, nuts, vanilla, bourbon and a mild roasty bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, sweet. Tasty, mellow and well rounded with a good bourbon wood character. Very nice.

2015 Bottle, thanks PotjeBier! Black colored. Malt, soft roast and abundant bourbon and vanilla in the aroma. Malty sweet alcoholic flavor with bourbon, vanilla and chocolate. Creamy, warming, Nice.

Creamy tan head stayed on a near black still body. Dark spirits, malt, demerara & raisin aroma. Medium to full bodied with a creamy mouth feel & tingly back. Sweet, malt, bourbon, plum, berry, chocolate, over ripe fruit & Christmas cake tastes.

Bottle shared @ Sori Taproom. Poured near black with a thin brown head. Light bourbon, wood and roastedness. Dense with chocolate, bourbon and wood. Roasty finish. Nice.

355ml bottle. Jet black colour with small, creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige to tan head. Sweet-ish, chocolately, dark malty aroma, notes of chocolate sauce, couverture, dark chocolate, vanilla. Taste is sweet, chocolately dark malty, caramel malty, slightly alcoholic, notes of dark chocolate, chocolate sauce, couverture, caramel, vanilla; minimally biting, warming, alcoholic finish. Underwhelming.

Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is reminiscent of a milk stout, with lots of chocolate and some bourbon. Big body. Flavour is smooth and creamy, lots of chocolate, quite bitter, sweet with notes of caramel. Bourbon is there but more on the background. Finishes smooth and creamy with bourbon sweetness and vanilla. Good but not my favourite.
