The usually peaceful St. Vrain River snakes out of the Rocky Mountains, winding mischievously towards our brewery. Named after Ceran St. Vrain, an 1800’s trapper and trader in the valley, St. Vrain is our version of a classic Belgian Tripel. Light in color and lightly hopped using Celeia hops, a touch of malt sweetness contrasts the warm spiciness hidden within. What at first appears benevolent can manifest into a mighty serpent in waiting.

Can picked up from Loz's Beer Republic Bier Adventskalender Box. Had this at home Christmas Day, Monday 25th December 2023 after a big lunch at Gasthof zum Sonnenwald, Schöfweg, listening to BC Camplight - Last Rotation of Earth. Pours a very light gold with a slight haziness and a white head.Soft mouthfeel, a little bit on the boozy side. Nose is a little too much boozy fumes, some sweetness in the mouth. A little bit unbalanced, there is a fruitiness here but it's just not hitting the right notes.

12 fl. oz. can from the Beer Republic advent calendar. Slightly cloudy in the glass, one finger white head. Heavy floral aroma with malt. Taste is malty, brown sugar sweetness, floral fruity. Pleasaat alcoholic with some increasing bitterness. Nice one.

Dark yellow colour with thin head. Initial sulphur aroma which dissipates after a while. Beyond that some musty yeast and hay. Malty and sweet with a slightly herbal/spicy note. Ok but is of similar standard to basic Belgian supermarket own brand Tripel.

335 ml can from Beer Republic advent calendar poured into a Trappist glass. Clear, rich golden colour with a thin white head. Fruity aroma with pepper, spicy notes, yeasts, and tropical impressions. The taste is sweet. Medium to full body. Drying fruity spiced finish. Nice Tripel.

Taster at Beasts & Brews. Pours clear straw, with a medium, foamy, white head. The aroma is orange oils, cloves, sugar cane, and a bubblegum. Sweet and sugary, with a solid estery finish. Medium body, quite lively, and crisp. Nice yeasty character.

Prima.

12 oz can. Pours a clear amber with moderate head. Aromas of grain, a little metallic Belgian yeast, and little citrus. Flavours follow same with a bit more emphasis on bitter lemon. Pretty simple and not really bold enough for the style.

Kind of a wannabe belgian-style tripel. I doubt that it was double fermented. Aromas are malt, yeast and a little spice. Flavors are similar to nose and sweet seems to come from malt, bitter from yeast and slight tart from carbonation. Okay body and finish follows flavors. One time only.
