From tap at Borefts 2019. Big smoked malt aroma with herbal notes, peach, smoked bacon, vinegar, pickles. Big puckering sourness, very smokey, bold and in-your-face. Wow, quite an uncompromising beer. Love it or hate it? I for one am very pleased.

25 June 2021. At Dok Brewing Company. Cheers Anke & PIeter! Hazy amber/red, no head. Aroma of ripe peach, pomegrenate, pink grapefruit, wine vinegar, wet hay, vague red cabbage, sauerkraut, bacon. Taste has very sour end-of-stonefruit (peach) & plum, apple, red berries, lemon acid accents, funky vinegar & wood with smoky notes around it. Tart, tannic, sour fruity finish, lingering sour peach, balsamico, vinegar, sauerkraut & smoked meat, charcoal too in a 'wet' kind of way. Touch of warming liqueur alcohol but quenched by the tartness. Medium body, oily texture, soft to flat carbonation. Very complex; not one to drink by the gallon but satisfying.

330ml bottle. Opalescent, deep red colour with small to average, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, off-white to beige head. Fruity, smoky, tangy aroma, notes of wood ashes, red berries, a touch of peat, wine, whiffs of sauerkraut, cherry, plum, smoked eel, a background-ish touch of peach. Taste is mildly tart, fruity, mildly smoky, minimally woody, notes of red berries, subtle hints of wood ashes, some cherry, a touch of red wine, oak, tannic overtones, peaty interludes; the peach comes in rather late with subtle sweetness. Oily-watery texture, smooth and soft, minimally astringent, simultaneously minimally cloying palate, fine and soft carbonation. Rich, complex and manifold, oscillating, full of subtleties, thereby well balanced, harmonious; the peach flavours need some time to develope their full presence (but remain integrated) - very complex, excellent beer.

Bottle. Color: Murky brownish red, thin beige head. Aroma: Moderate tart, smoky, fruity. Taste: Moderate to over moderate tart, smoke, subtle fruity peach, notes of wood and white wine. Quite a lot of smoke. Light to moderate sweet and bitter. Smoke finish, reminds me of sitting next to a chain smoker, not the bbq kind of smoke. Medium body, just below average carbonation. Nice complexity. Nice one, although personally I would have preferred a little less smoke.

Pours unclear, dark amber. No real head. Smell is smokey, fleshy. Mild fruit. Oak, typical alvinne funk. Taste is tart, sharp, peach, smoke. Intense, but acceptabel to me. Meaty. Tart, fruity, oak and smokey finish with a mild acetic acid bite to it. --- Beer aliased from original tick of & Friends #4 Smokin' Peaches on 02 Oct 2016 at 23:12 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 6 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 9.
