Our Jaggy Thistle is a vintage, CAMRA-approved scrumpy, naturally fermented over the colder months.
The cider is laid down in ex-spirit casks to mature, producing a slow-fermented, unfiltered, unpasteurised, cask-conditioned finish. Our Jaggy Thistle really is one of a kind!

330ml draft in a bottle from lowcostbeer.com. Pours clear gold, still, no head. Aroma is juicy soft apples, some wood, quite floral. Taste is juicy apples, grape, some zesty apple peel, light boozy note. Medium bodied and smooth. Very nice flavour to this one. Its a thumbs up from me!

Cider Freak Day, Sunday 3rd April 2022. I hosted a cider tasting with my good lady, or son, his girlfriend and my sister-in-law (who didn't really join in much). The litre of this was fourth in the session, bottled from a box by LowCostBeer. Clear and apple flavoured, liked it.

BIAB from Caps Off, Bishop Auckland. Golden amber colour, no head and aroma of tart apple, funk. Taste is mellow fruity apple, sweetish, some vinegary funk, with leathery and earthy orchard notes. Oily mouthfeel, medium bodied, low carbonation, medium-dry finish. Nicely drinkable.

Cask @ Bridge Bier Huis, Burnley. Hazy golden and noticeably sweet before its strength becomes evident. Has a good apple aftertaste.

On tap @ SRAF. Golden. Glue and wood on the nose. The taste has more of the same, though some apple notes. The finish is cloying and boozy.

Draft at Uiltje. Pours clear dark golden with a small off white head. Aroma of sweet red apples, apple rind, light wood and a little tart green apple. Flavour is above light sweet and light moderate sour, tart apple aspects coming out far more in the palate. Light medium bodied with above light carbonation.

Draught @ Van Moll Brewpub. Clear orange golden color, medium sized off-white head that diminishes quickly. Aroma is lightly green apple, applepeel. Tastes about the same, green apple but not sour, applepeel, a slight sort of tart. Medium dry, quite nice.
